Over the past several years as a Marriott Club Member, and Marriott Bonvoy card holder, we have regularly enjoyed delicious meals and great service. Yesterday was the exception. The food was substandard. There is no way it should receive a five star rating. The lamb stew was extremely fatty, the fish was dry, and the pork was so dry nobody was taking it. The broccoli soup was not even warm, the soup spoon was dirty, and the Alfredo sauce for the pasta was very bland. It was very evident that the chefs were poorly trained and their assistants didn’t know how to keep the food looking appetizing. Not much of a selection either. The best part of the meal was the coffee at the end.

Furthermore, when I went to pay the bill we were charged the full amount, not the lesser amount advertised on the board outside the restaurant. We did receive our standard discount but we weren’t told upfront that we wouldn’t be charged the advertised lower price everyone else was paying. When I made the reservation I told them that I was a Marriott Club Member and they took the required information. I brought this up with the floor manager and he took a picture of my membership and told me someone would contact me to resolve the issue. Nobody has contacted me yet. They have lost all credibility. This is a management issue. Their cooking staff need to be properly trained and the service staff need to be aware of the requirements when dealing with Marriott Club members. I would highly recommend against eating there when there are so many other great Marriott restaurants in Bangkok such as Goji or at JW Marriott that live up to their five...

Embarking on the breakfast buffet journey at Renaissance Bangkok unfolds as a culinary extravaganza, showcasing a diverse and extensive array of delectable options. From a plethora of Thai tea variations and refreshing fruit juices to an expansive selection of pastries, yogurt, and salads, the buffet ensures a sumptuous and varied start to the day.

The gastronomic adventure continues with dedicated stations featuring noodles, eggs, pancakes, satay, Indian delicacies, and Chinese dim sum, creating a symphony of flavors that caters to diverse tastes. Adding to the opulence, the buffet boasts different meat selections daily, featuring tantalizing options such as roast beef and honey-glazed ham, providing guests with a delightful array of choices.

While the food offerings are nothing short of impressive, the service experience introduces a touch of disappointment. An instance arises when, after ordering coffee, the staff inadvertently overlooks the request, prioritizing other patrons. A reminder becomes necessary, requiring a call after 15 minutes to prompt the staff to fulfill the order. Despite this minor hiccup, the overall dining experience remains positive, buoyed by the exceptional variety and quality of the breakfast offerings. The buffet at Renaissance Bangkok stands as a culinary haven, offering guests a memorable and satisfying start...

Flavours is located at level two of Renaissance hotel. I got a seat facing the window, pretty nice and bright sunlight.

You have a variety of fresh cut fruits such as papaya , melon , watermelon ,passion fruit ,guava and you also have a selection of fruits which you can peel yourself which are locally source such as mangosteens , bananas, passionfruit , mandarin oranges.

You can go to a noodle station to pick up the type of noodle you would like, I got kway teow and it’s freshly made on a spot, served with meatballs and grilled pork. Totally comforting and yummy.

And if you are still hungry, you can proceed to the egg stations where you can get omelette , sunny side Up , Half boiled eggs or fully boiled eggs, just tell the chef how you like , they will make it for you. And especially if you have a love of a sweet tooth and love pancakes.

The panda pancakes is a must try for and you should accompany with a side of their freshly made pandan custard and vanilla sauce . Totally wonderful combination. You can taste aroma of the pandan.

And what’s great you get to taste a variety of freshly squeeze juices and milk , I tried some blue colour looking juice made out of lychee yoghurt, but the highlight for me was definitely the local Thai milk tea, it’s a bit too sweet but for the local experience definitely...

I ate regularly here while a guest and can recommend the breakfast buffet and the a la carte menu for dinner (I didn't have the buffet). The former in particular was good, with a wide variety of breakfast cuisines from around the region, including noodles, bread, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, meat etc. There is also an egg station where eggs are freshly prepared to your order. The a la carte menu at dinner was fairly extensive. Although not a huge range, you'll find western staples such as burgers, fish and chips, steak, salads and lamb. Curried dishes and Thai/ Asian dishes are also on offer. There is also a wine menu. I recommend getting to the breakfast early if possible (it opens at 6) and likewise for dinner, as it always seemed quite busy (although this may depend on how busy the conference facilities are.) Staff were always helpful, and it wasn't difficult to get their attention or assistance.
