We came to this place because of the hype regarding their American Fried Rice dish and wanted to see how it compared to other local places. The wait was very long even though it was way past lunch time. That was understandable given it wasn't a big place and we didn't want to sit outdoors but there was no place for us to wait. There were some empty chairs inside at the entrance but the staff did not invite us to sit there. As it turns out we waited for around 45 minutes and the late lunch became even later. Prices of the food were on the expensive side which was also understandable given the location of the restaurant but the food was actually OK. For food we ordered the AFR combo, buffalo wings and onion rings. The AFR was excellent, buffalo wings were nice but onions rings were too oily but not insufferably so. For drinks we ordered the root beer float and a chocolate milkshake. Nothing special about these. We've tasted better elsewhere and for much cheaper. My problem was not with the food or the atmosphere of the restaurant but with the bad service from the staff. First they got the root beer float order wrong despite us clearly pointing to that item on the menu, and the staff displayed a bit of annoyance upon us telling him he got it wrong. Despite the simplicity of the food we ordered, delivery was slow and I'm not sure where the bottle neck is. I got seriously annoyed when we were done eating and asked for the bill. Plenty of staff walking around, some were just standing chatting with each other. After waiting some time and not receiving the bill I followed up again. The final time I had to scold one of the staff which made them scurry off to get my bill. We paid via credit card and even that took longer than it should. For this type of service it is outrageous that we're being charged a 10% service fee.
In summary, food was great but due to the low quality of the service, this will be the first and LAST TIME I will be...
Read moreThis is probably my forth visit to this all-day breakfast 🥞 place in an iconic building of Bangkok, Amarin Gaysorn.
Lunch is lively as expected from office workers with deep pocket for fancy meals with colleagues.
I ordered basic black coffee in which the server mention all I can drink (not too sure how many cups I can drink). Coffee taste great as I recall the aroma of same coffee served on Thai airways flight.
As for food...my friend say "if you want something delicious, you should not come here". I would disagree with her. My eggs Benedict choice was excellent 👌 but not much better than what I can cook in my small Bangkok apartment.
Wifi is free and so is water.
I am counting 10 servers but I hope they could be more attentive with my coffee refill. I would expect a manager with coffee pot go around with coffee pot to top up my cup.
Lunch crowd is loud and so is jazz/soul background music. Sound insulation is poor as I can hear kitchen staff doing dishes from where I sit.
Outside seatings area seem great choice is you don't mind car passing by.
Overall...there is room to improve to be Bangkok choice for breakfast.
Until next time...let's see if the management can do some improvement. I see Mickey's can be one of the top choice for breakfast place in Bangkok. The management will need to fine tune this a little. I would give higher star for atmosphere if they turn down that background music. I would also prefer kitchen staff keep it down as we all can hear...
Read moreI was about to give them a 5/5, but I was disappointed with their service. I understand that this place is popular for breakfast, so the operation team may find it difficult to handle peak times. However, there’s no hostess standby to manage the queue for customers, and it’s very confusing when there are a lot of people who want to be seated. When I arrived, I saw one family waiting for a table. They were waiting outside as the waitress instructed, so I got in line after them. However, a few minutes later, a guy walked into the restaurant and went straight to the staff to ask how to join the queue. The male staff asked for his name and was about to write it down, at which point the family and I, who were ahead in line, expressed our frustration to the male staff, stating that we arrived earlier and he should manage the queue according to the order of arrival.
This was my first experience with their service, and yes, the food was good. It was served in large portions, and the taste was okay. However, the service needs improvement to enhance the...
