Fu Bar — Restaurant in Talat Yot Subdistrict

Popped by for a quick drink after dinner with friends and had the worst experience I have ever had in a bar.....

Ordered a couple of beers and a mojito cocktail.....the waiter didn't speak very good English and I couldn't speak his language so I also pointed at mojito on the menu to avoid confusion.

Unfortunately a mai tai was delivered instead of a mojito.....not a problem I thought....I'll let the waiter know about the mis-undertstanding and we'll get the drink changed. How wrong I was.

The waiter accused me of ordering a mai tai and refused to change the drink. After my refusal to pay for a drink we didn't order he took it away. He then brought it back and told me I'd ordered it again. This happened another 2 times each time the waiter becoming more and more aggressive.

Someone else finally came over after this impasse- I assume he was a manager or supervisor- and accused me of the same as he simply took the waiter's word without question. After more back and forth he eventually agreed to change the drink.......why they couldn't have done this straight away is beyond me.

What made this worse was the way in which the waiter gave us faux smiles after the issue had been resolved- most definitely insincere. Needless to say we didn't stay for...

Outside was empty and inside a band was playing, so I decided to go in and have a drink. The guard at the door pointed at a sign saying "toilet 20 Baht". I didn't understand and said I was interested in going in and watching the band. So he pointed to a Leo beer sign and said I should order beer.

I was not interested in Leo beer and said I was going to order some other drink whilst inside. So he took out the menu and insisted I should order something right there. When I said it was an improper way of ordering and wondered why I couldn't order at the table inside like any normal customer, he started shouting at loudly. So I left.
