CONTRA MAR SEAFOOD LOUNGE ROOFTOP TERRACE — Restaurant in Fatih

Two waiters, barely know any english, insisted for more than 5 minutes to buy food, and we did, only after he said it was 50% off. When the check came, it was full price, and he suddenly forgot english. Got scammed, paid full price (~1000 lira) for less than basic frozen pizza and cheese rolls and a tiny amount of hummus. When we confronted him about the price, he offered tea and other things no one asked for, just so we could overlook the scam. It's a shame this nice view and experience to be there got absolutely ruined at the end by the horrible turned-around atitude of the waiter, trying to act politely and laugh off the inconvenience created. Been to Turkey 11 years ago, and was excited to see it again as an adult. Looks like it set the mood off for the entire vacation, as this happened on the first day. Never expected this. If anyone wants to go there for the view, go for it, dont buy anything tho, but that could be a challenge as the waiters might be exasperatingingly pushy and overly friendly. Absolutely...

We went to Contramar Seafood Rooftop Restaurant where they offered an extraordinary dining experience with stunning city views. Located in a quiet street near SultanAhmet Mosque, the ambience was very tasteful and elegant, the staff provided excellent table service and the food was 10/10. We enjoyed the perfectly crispy calamari and buttery shrimp for starters, followed by a main course of a chicken stew which was served with theatrical flair in a sealed traditional clay pot over an open flame beside our table. Once the clay pot was broken open, the stew was sizzling hot, and tasted delicious. Wrapped up the evening meal with kunefa, washed down with a Turkish tea!

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely fantastic – every dish was flavorful and delicious. As a lovely surprise, we were treated to some complimentary počiš and natriš, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole dining experience even better. The tea was perfect, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was just lovely.
