The room was large enough to accommodate 5 people: 1 double bed, 2 singles and 1 sofabed. There was a folding dining table with stackable chairs. TV. Kettle. Single hot plate. Cups, cutlery, plates and a couple of pans. Attached toilet bath with towels; it was functional and clean and was cleaned everyday, however, hot water in the taps and shower was a bit temperamental. Slippers to use in the room were also provided. Teabags were on the house and on the first day we got complementary water bottles: 500mL for each of us.||Our room was on the 4th floor so was very quiet; there are only 2 rooms on this floor.||The receptionist Ahmet was very pleasant and helpful in answering our queries. He also helped getting our suitcases in and out, and stored some excess ones in the office, including during the time when we had checked out and were waiting for our transport to the airport.||Before we reached Istanbul he maintained good communication and called me when there was a query about our transport from airport to the hotel.||If you are looking for a no-frills place to stay in Istanbul that is at a stone's throw from major attractions, i.e., Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque etc. then this hotel ticks all the boxes.||P.S. I have posted this same review on the website from where we made...
Read moreMy partner and her friend stayed here for three nights. They used AirBnB to book a penthouse (top floor) room, advertised with views, the online photos looked very nice. When they arrived, they were given a very small entirely different room than advertised, looking nothing like the photos. They complained to the staff, who were very unhelpful and said they would need to speak to the owner. They also called AirBnB help line, assuming they would be able to help. Both the owner and AirBnB were unapologetic and made no effort to even refund the difference between the room booked and the room they got!||||To add insult to injury, the next day on returning to the hotel, they found a hidden camera attached to the TV in the bedroom, which definitely had not been there the previous day! ||||Yes, the hotel is in a good location, and you may be lucky with the room as some other reviews suggest, but staying at the White Pearl can also be an Horrific Experience! Don't risk it, there are plenty of other BnBs and hotels to choose from...
Read moreAmazing location in the historic peninsula! At White Pearl you get to be 5 minutes from Sultanahmet square (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Obelisk) as well as Grand Bazaar (in opposite direction) and 10 minute walk to Toptaki Palace. Want to walk 15 minutes? You’re in the Egyptian Bazaar! The actual rooms (we stayed at 101 in ground floor) are quite basic but well equipped and great shower. We basically only slept there so was very convenient but if you are looking for a spacious and luxurious hotel this is not it. The apart allows you to cook (market 2 mins away and 5 mins away a supermarket) and gives you great flexibility. Close to good restaurants as well. Staff is very friendly and helpful in spite of not speaking fluent English. Highly recommended for travelling families choosing convenience...
