Pampangenos — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

I visited the place once again as guest taster for the soon to be launched new menu and oh boy- can' t wait to have the Steamed Seabream in Chinese Soy Sauce 😋😀😄 in their regular menu.

Probably your best choice for authentic Filipino foods not just at Al Wahda Mall but within Abu Dhabi in terms of taste, choices, ambience and variety of customized order to suit one's taste.

Filipinos can be picky at times and offer critical opinions considering each may come from the 7,107 islands comprising the country that may say otherwise depending on how a certain food or dish is prepared or cooked.

Some will offer their honest (and sometimes brutal opinions 😳) on the quality of foods, some will focus on the kind of service they received at the time, others might simply offer their judgement based on plain comparison on what they normally have in their table back in the Philippines. But overall in my opinion, having visited almost all available Filipino Restaurants in this part of the world for more than 25 years, this restaurant and its older sister restaurant back in Dubai - Salt and Pepper, could be one of your best choices for real authentic quality Filipino food in general.

Today, I had a mixed seafood pan fried customized order by Chef Jun...and it was just perfect 👊.

Tomorrow, I'm planning to have their mouth watering...

This is my first time sharing a post to a restaurant and I am a bit frustrated because it is a negative feedback. We had our Dinner buffet last Friday Sept. 24 at Pampangenos Alwahda Mall Branch since we found the food affordable and delicious. They served mostly local Filipino inspired dishes. However after having dinner. Around 2am in the morning at Sept 25. I had abdominal cramps followed by fever and diarrhea. I was so scared that I though it was COVID related symptoms. But it turned out I was negative from my swabtest for 2x. The Dr then referred me to a Gastroenterologist since I had persistent diarrhea every 30 minutes. They run some labworks and conclude it was Food poisoning with Amoebiasis origin . I was so disappointed and did not expect it would happen. I was admitted for 5 days in the Hospital with recurrent fever and diarrhea. Luckily the antibiotics, protozoal treatment works for me and i feel better after few days. I am posting this to share awareness to people that we have to be cautious and do some research about the restaurant specially if your 1st time dining at that place. The restaurant must be careful in serving food to their customers and assure that food is handling properly according to protocols.

Definitely will not come back to this...

I have tried this restaurant twice and Ms. Gloria or Glory (not sure) is really nice and approachable, very welcoming, it feels like home, especially when I'm dining alone. I hope all of their staff are the same as her. I didn't try the buffet, only their 1 meal, the rellenong bangus meal with lumpiang sariwa, buko pandan, unli rice & soup and bottomless drinks. The food is ok but last Saturday, my second time dining here, I called the guy (making sign language) to ask for soup and he told me to get it by myself, i just feel a little bad as it feels like I am so lazy to get the food and other customers heard it also. In the first place no one informed me that I can take any time if I still need extra rice, soup or drinks. But the food was inside the buffet area so I didn't feel like going there to take what I wanted. That's why I'm hesitant to take it on my own as I ordered for 1 meal only.
