Cafe Bateel - JBR — Restaurant in Dubai

Starting of as a producer of gourmet dates and chocolates in 2007, Bateel has rapidly transformed into a well-known brand, loved for traditional Arabic coffee, French pastry, Mediterranean cuisine and luxury gift boxes packed with tempting goodies.

Being right at the beginning of this popular neighborhood, Bateel JBR is quicker to reach than the rest of the development due to less traffic. Customers get two hours free parking at Murjan Tower 1 and there is indoor and outdoor seating with free WiFi.

The menu introduces several signature dishes designed for the occasion, seasonal variations of all-time favorites and a few call backs from previous editions.

The 10th anniversary menu consists of locally sourced ingredients with a focus on regional flavors rather than traditional Mediterranean cuisine. This trend is continued, adding mildly spiced curry, saffron and tabbouleh to otherwise conservative dishes.

Superfood tuna salad pleasantly surprised me with a dash of roasted garlic that wasn't listed in the description but was hidden among the fresh lettuce, house-cured olives, avocados, pine nuts, cherry tomatoes and slices of beautifully pink tuna. Seasoned with light apple vinegar, it was an ideal choice for a starter as it triggered an appetite for more. Apparently it was available on the menu in the past, and if you are looking to try a completely new creation, the Bateel Palm salad is a great alternative.

Lobster rigatoni made of slowly cooked Canadian lobster in light creamy curry sauce was delightfully fragrant. Fresh coriander leaves added lovely drops of green colour and perfectly balanced the zestiness of the lemon.

Sea bass served on a bed of saffron risotto was tender and tasty. Large asparagus cooked in a pan added crispness and tartness to the dish.

My dessert, paired with dark coffee, was made of premium beans and as delightful as the whole lunch. A Tarte Azelia greatly benefited from bits and pieces of roasted hazelnuts and the Emoji Tartelette and Passionfruit Strawberry Tart had a lovely contrast of sweetness and sourness that were...

Recommended to me and quite regularly frequented by my family, Cafe Bateel is a brand in itself and does not need introduction, atleast here in the UAE. To be honest, as someone who doesn't have a palette for European / British cuisine, I was not really happy with my first visit to Cafe Bateel. Now, let me say that the breakfast item I ordered was neatly presented, a feast to the eyes indeed, but bland for my taste buds! However, I am glad I gave the place a second chance! On my second visit, I tried a dessert that caught my eye, Dulce Lava Cake, and its heaven! This one has 4 parts to it, and it tastes amazing when u get a whole bit with all four textures together. The base is a cake, within which is the caramel lava; on top of this cake is a round biscuit -visibly firm, but soft in the mouth; and finally comes the cream on the biscuit! When u cut through this one piece dessert from the top layer - the cream, then the biscuit, and finally the caramel lava with a portion of the soft cake on one side, and they come together in your mouth they make sense! One might think that the caramel lava will give a sugar rush, but no! The slightly salty biscuit and the cake will cut right through it and the cream will leave u happy! One mouthful of this heavenly dessert is enough, it is heavy! So, not recommended if u are not a fan of desserts, or if u have just had a heavy main course! Cafe Bateel at JBR became an absolute favorite during my time in Dubai! I visited three times, and each experience was as delightful as the last. Their breakfast package is fantastic, offering a variety of fresh, high-quality items that make for a perfect start to the day. The assortment includes everything from perfectly cooked eggs to fresh, warm bread and pastries, all thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. It’s evident that a lot of care goes into each dish, and the flavors never disappoint.
