Only good thing about this place was performance…Artists were great , especially acrobat on pole and handstand was FANTASTIC . But simply that’s all .. It’s First and Obviously LAST time me or my friends would visit or I would recommend to anyone because to ruin such experience of enjoying evening to that level you should do serious efforts . We were celebrating special Occasion for my friend and reason to visit place was to see performance ... I booked table 2 weeks in advance and clearly mention that we need table with best view for performance and that’s what we been promised and confirmed . So when we arrived we found out that table was in the corner and totally away from place where performance take place . Well ok we couldn’t do anything and had to accept. They said it’ll be fine , you can watch it and we can’t change table.. When we wanted to come closer and see act Huge Security Aggressive Dude immediately rushing to us and literally SHOUTING at us that we can’t stand and watch here and we have to go back and sit on our place .. EXCUSE ME WHAT?!?!?! I should be scared of security in restaurant and being blocked from seeing performance that we came for ?!??!?!?!! Ordering food , to get starters took around 40 min minimum and main dish more than 1 hr.. poor selection , no even simple cheese platter ….seriously guys ?!?! With limit of 2 hrs sitting … No words …because it’s special Hen party for our friend WE ASKED WAITER if it’s ok to do confetti to get sparkling moment . He said yes sure no problem , and even help us to open up them 🎉🎊and again Huge security guy immediately coming to us with some manager being super arrogant why we did this and it’s not allowed in their place and now it’ll take like 4 hrs to clean it up .. guys are you alright ?!?!! I asked waiter and in front of manager he’s lying that he didn’t allow us .. So cheap .. WOW really .. then immediately some cleaner starting brushing floor while people eating / drinking and trying to enjoy evening ..🥴🙄😬🤦🏻♀️Guys it’s confetti it’s not a broken glass calm down!!!! …ok I understand there’s a rules and regulation but if you put dancing music so loud and if people stand up and make few moves next to their table , not going anywhere or mixing with anyone else IT’S OK !!! No one would die because of Covid in this case!!! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️Nooooo …. immediately huge aggressive security jumping to us and shouting that we should sit down and we can’t dance … It’s make feeling like you guys trying to show power of your huge Securities and you don’t care at all about your clients or even simple respect to Ladies from Massive Males …I’ve never had such arrogant , rude and unpleasant experience anywhere else anywhere in the world …, even in a way more simple places , not talking about more higher level of restaurants , lounges, bars etc .. I had to call floor manager and talk to her in corner and explain that this is unacceptable and their simply ruining our special day that sadly we decided to celebrate in this place !!! 😔I never really have time fir such feedback but it’s reach point when you can’t keep quite … Would be super happy to see performance artists in a way pleasant and friendly atmosphere! This place so purely managed .....

I attended the evening brunch. Upon being seated our table of five was asked for our drinks orders, and we all asked for wine. The server eventually returned with one glass and told us this is the only glass they have, but she will go look for more. Quite a bit of time passed, she never checked back in with us, so we reached out to her. We said we would be happy to drink from water glasses, it doesn’t matter. Again, she never returned, never apologized, never followed up.
At this point I approach the cash and ask to speak to a manager. A woman is brought to me, I explain the problem, and she says she will help. I return to my table… but no one comes.
More time passes, I again ask to speak to a manager. This time a different woman approaches and tells me the last “manager” I spoke with was just a server, but don’t worry she will come check on our table soon and service will be impeccable. While talking to her I look over at my table and I can see four (not five) glasses have finally arrived, so this was not from the managers help. At this point it is 9:20. We have been there for 80 minutes at a 375aed brunch and just been served our first glass of wine, and the only food we had received by then was a tasteless loaf of bread.
The fifth wine glass appeared a few minutes later and food began coming out. The manager, who was going to check in on our table, actually only passed by and refilled one glass by a quarter inch, said nothing, and ran away. If she’d stayed to ask if service had improved she would have known our medium rare steaks were well done.
It was time to go. Two of the group had teacher IDs (which gets you a 50aed discount) and the server took them away for some reason. We waited for her to bring them back but instead saw her doing a million other things instead. We wanted to leave so we asked for them back. Nothing. We asked again. Nothing. So we decide to stand up, approach the cash and just take them back ourselves. At that point the manager sees us, I tell her about the problem with the IDs, and she says “well she is busy and has a lot of tables”.
Quality service is modeled from the top, and the manager was not service oriented. She did nothing to make it right or improve our evening. We were, however, told a few times “your bill will come with dessert, last call is 10:45 and you can have one drink”. I like to know the rules as much as anyone, but it feels quite cheeky when you don’t bother serving your guests for half...
Read moreSad to say I was very disappointed with STK last night. This is one of our favourite brunch venues and we have been here many times to celebrate birthdays, engagements etc and never had an issue…until last night. We have some friends visiting from overseas and decided to book a table for brunch. Our issue was with one of our waitresses which we found to be very rude when ordering drinks. She said that we could only have one drink in front of us at a time and refused to give my friend a second drink. When I said to her that customers at the tables around us had multiple drinks (and I had seen her give multiple drinks to some customers) she replied with “well I can just take yours off you if I like”. When she walked away I was speaking with my friend and shaking my head in disappointment which she saw. She proceeded to returned to the table and said to me “do you have some problem or what is wrong?” Furthermore, one of our friends could not make it to the brunch so STK charged us 100 aed for the no show. This was perfectly acceptable as we hadn’t called to amend our booking, so we had no issue with this. A friend of mine was passing after work and wanted to call in to say hi. I asked the same waitress earlier in the evening if it was possible to maybe just get one or two starters for him as he was coming from work and hadn’t eaten. As we had paid for the no show I thought that this was a reasonable request. She said she would check with the chef. About 20 minutes later she arrived with two starters to the table and made no comments to me. My friend arrived at 10:50pm (brunch ended at 11pm) and when we got the bill he was charged for a full brunch. When I questioned the waitress about this she said that “you agreed that he would paid full price for brunch” which was not the case. She was quite rude and disrespectful again when I questioned her on this and I asked to speak with the floor manager Yolanda. Yolanda was extremely helpful and understanding and agreed that we shouldn’t have been charged for an extra brunch. Yolanda apologised for our experience and mentioned that floor staff were not allowed to question customers about their orders like that and that our experience was not what STK stood for. She removed the charge form the bill and also organised for a round of complimentary drinks for the table. Thank you Yolanda for taking the time to speak with me and for sorting the issue so...
