I am utterly appalled me and my daughter where out on a shopping trip and we popped in to this place because we where attacked to the looks of this place it gave a very cozy vibe but we did not think to read the reviews next time I go out to anywhere new I'm definitely going to read the review.me and my daughter sat down and looked across the menu and my daughter ordered a turkey, cranberry and Bree toasty which was was £7 something and she was very surprised that it was that cheap because she was expecting a salad or some chips on the side but no she was served a tiny baguette with barely any bree or turkey just a lot of cranberry and she also ordered a smoothie which was £4 something and it was literally a size of a shot glass technically and it had massive chunks in it and it was warm but on to my food I ordered a burger what was £9 something and then charged me a pound for some cheese and I'm aware that the food prices had went up but The burger was very small and it was RAW!!!!! I had one bite of it and I saw it was all pink inside I took it to the counter and told the lady then the lady turns around to the chef and said "this lady said it's raw" and he had the nerve to say to me that it's not raw in a very rude way like he was unbothered after looking at it for a few minutes I said to him that "I like my food cooked not raw" and he just looked at me and rolled his eyes I asked for it in a takeaway bag so it wouldn't go to waste and I ended up having to cook it when I got home the only thing good I have to say about this place is that the hot chocolate was nice but other then that I'm NEVER GOING BACK THERE and you should never go there yourself and just go to McDonald's, least you know it will be cooked and cheaper

We went here for a light lunch over Easter weekend. Sat outside, which was nice. I went for a mocha and a shot, as well as a jerk chicken wrap with a small side salad. The Mocha and shop were very nice. We had about a 20-minute wait for food, which we understood as it was busy. When my food came, it looked lovely. The salad, however, was covered in dressing. (Too much for me) and the Jerk chicken wrap was very disappointing. In one whole wrap, I had 2 small pieces of chicken. Which were in one side of the wrap, in the other side nothing but the salad. For the money it wasn't worth it. My husband had a beef panini with horseradish, it looked amazing and feedback was it was very tasty. For me I should have just paid for a cesear salad as thats basically what I got in the wrap. Sadly I won't be back.

Was looking for a decent breakfast whilst away for a couple of days and stumbled upon Bridge Street Coffee. Quite dark from the outside but warm and modern inside. Lots of wood, soft lighting and really comfy chairs. Menu full of all the usual arty stuff you see nowadays, avo, sourdough, juice shots etc. Had the normal and veggie breakfasts and they were both superb. Gluten free option for the bread on the veggie. Flat White was actually a Flat White rather than a watery cappuccino and the apple juice was fresh from the Juicer. The only gripe would be the sausages which were supposed to be Cumberland but were too herby with sage in them. Service was very good and cracking value for money. Will deffo visit again if we're back in town. Go check em out.

So there is a lot of good but some things need thinking through a bit. The good - nice layout and decor - it feels high quality and expensive. The girl taking the order was very nice and polite. The man who was looking after front of house (maybe the owner) was also pleasant and keen to please. Ingredients eg sausage, bacon, berries, waffles were top quality and very tasty. Coffee was good quality and well made. Helpfully got us a high chair for the baby which was nice and clean (which isn’t always the case at a lot of places). However it felt a bit awkward at times. There was a veggie cooked breakfast which one of our party ordered. No vegan one so we asked to swap the egg out and just add more beans instead. The girl taking the order read it back to us twice to check it which was fine. Then after a while the man came to the table to check it again - twice. not sure why - maybe there have been a lot of errors in the orders. We imagined though thst the beans would either come in a small bowl and they would just give a bigger bowl or two small bowls, or the breakfast would be plated traditionally and there would just be extra beans in place of the egg. But it came stylishly presented all piled on a piece of sourdough bread - in a huge lake of beans. Weird and looked pretty awful tbh. So when people want a bit of flexibility maybe think through how to best present it. My English breakfast also came artfully arranged on a piece of sourdough with the rest on top of the bread. No problem but then I was also brought two pre packed small butters for my bread. What was I supposed to do with that? I would have had to remove all the food off the bread to then butter it. So again think through eating it from a customers point of view not just an aesthetic picture view point. The feel and look of the cafe is high quality so I was surprised at the motorway services sauce sachets - seemed out of place and s nice bottle of ketchup would feel better and cleaner rather than dumping the opened sachets on the table which we didn’t want to do as the tables were so nice. Even put it in a little bowl anything rather than sachets. Lastly there is one item for children which is a ham and cheese toasty. I have no issue with that but we had a toddler and assumed it would be smallish and easy to eat - older children could choose off the main menu as portions aren’t huge. But the toasty was a full size toasty made of sourdough thickly cut. Our toddler hasn’t that many teeth yet and the crustiness and thickness of the bread was not possible for her to eat. We had to take it apart and give her some of the inside softer part and the ham. She seemed to enjoy that bit though but a lot of waste for us. The banana caramel milkshake had zero taste of banana or caramel - it just tasted of milk. Maybe rethink using snugburys to make it as clearly it has no flavour. Oh finally we did also order a waffle between us which was delicious indeed - a very good waffle - the maple syrup and berries were very good and plentiful too. But when he brought it he said quite loudly in a kind of incredulous voice “did you guys order this as well??” Which drew some attention from the table next to us and made us feel a bit awkward like we had over ordered - which they should be glad of not questioning! And of course he knew we had ordered it - they checked our order with us 4 times and it was on the same ticket with the table number and we had paid for it in advance so no need for the questioning I didn’t think. So good things but also feedback to...

Went here for breakfast with my partner. I ordered the Bridge St Breakfast, essentially a full English and my partner ordered eggs Benedict.

Drinks came out quickly but food took a long time to come out.

I cut into the sausage and it was blatantly raw inside. I very politely approached the waitress and let her know, her response was “that’s not raw it’s a special kind of ham inside the sausage”. This was a blatant lie, it was a standard Cumberland sausage that was completely uncooked and freezing cold in the middle. When I challenged her on this rejecting what she said and repeating that it is definitely raw her response was “Well, what do you want me to do about it?”. Eventually after returning the food and bringing out a fresh order not only was everything hotter but the “special ham” inside the sausage had cooked to the same colour as the rest!

I could forgive the mishap but the blatant lying and extreme rudeness from the waitress is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. I can see a few reports off undercooked food and food poisoning on here so clearly food safety standards need to...
