Went for the bottomless brunch on a Saturday, and it was honestly feral.
We were booked for 4.30pm - and things were already quite rowdy. The place was full of hen dos, the centre of the room by this point was a dancefloor (complete with spilt drinks) despite still serving food.
The staff were very welcoming, sat us down and began explaining the menu. At that point they choose to turn the already loud music up to nightclub volume. He literally had to shout the rest of the menu to us, which we couldn't really hear. We asked a member of staff after about 5 minutes if it was normal for the volume to be turned up so loud this early - with no sense of irony we had to ask multiple times before she could hear our question, and we were told it was the norm.
The food was a pastry to begin with, followed by two small plates from the menu. I never expect great food at a bottomless, but honestly the food was a deep fried nightmare that just tasted of oil. The chicken blasts were impossible to chew, the bang bang cauliflower looked like it had indeed been blasted all over my plate - absolute no taste or texture remaining, just a pile of mush.
The drinks were nice enough, and it's a good that you can opt for a spirit and mixer option if you don't fancy a cocktail.
The service was really good - quick and efficient. The staff are friendly, and definitely doing their best under the circumstances.
Whilst fully appreciating this is a city centre venue on a Saturday, I personally think it's a really poor offering to be continuing "food" service whilst hosting a rave. Their website describes "palm at night" where "the vibe switches at 6pm" - so we were expecting to be able to hear each other whilst eating for almost our entire 1 hour 45 booking slot.
If you're a hen party looking for 1 hour 45 of unlimited drinks, a middle of the day party, and a bowl of chips to soak it up at the end - this is the brunch for you.
If you're looking for something to eat and the ability to hold any sort of conversation without screaming, go elsewhere. For us, it offered terrible...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited Palms on Friday night with my friend Elise for bottomless brunch. Elise had been here before, but it was my first time. We could not fault the staff at all, and the experience was incredible. We would like to say a huge thank you to Bella, Olivia and Dan (The Chef). Olivia was our server as she was amazing cant fault her at all. I have a milk intolerance, and it can be quite stressful when going out to eat since some places staff can be really rude about it, but Olivia was the complete opposite. She took our order, and she made sure to check with Dan that all the food was safe for me to eat, she was extremely polite young lady and went above and beyond for us. Bella was the bartenders, and she was the sweetest. She made sure that as soon as our drink were about half drank that we were asked what drink we wanted next, and we didnāt have one time where either of us didnāt have a drink. Since we had never had these cocktails before since it was their Christmas menu we didnāt know if we were going to like them and there was one occasion that I didnāt like the drink I had and she got me a new drink straight away but she also asked what cocktails we typically have and gave us a suggestion on what drinks to order that were very similar. I canāt thank Dan (The Chef) enough for making sure all food was safe for me to eat because this is my biggest fear when going out for food and all the food was delicious and flavorful. Both mine and Elise's favorite was the chicken tacos, and the turkey loaded fries. All together we paid Ā£36.95 each which included a Ā£5 deposit, and it was value for money since you each got 2 dishes each and unlimited drinks. I would highly recommend this place, and they will all be seeing us both there again soon. You have the most wonderful staff that take so much pride in the work they do. We also decided that we were going to leave a Ā£10 tip because of how wonderful Bella and Olivia were. We both work in hospitality, so we just wanted to make sure credit was given...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBrilliant place, booked for a birthday bottomless brunch the festive menu in the day time at 1.30pm- venue is really busy at this time, it is fully booked and only had choice of one booth left which we had no choice to take, would of loved to sit where the pretty photogenic parts are but its not the end of the world for us. Food is delicious and came quite quickly. The servers were amazing with restocking our cocktails, half way through our brunch we did have to wait but it got so busy it couldn't be helped. The cocktails themselves were amazing, plenty of it and dressed nicely. As itās a set drinks menu i only really tried 3 out of the 6 cocktails as they weren't to my taste. I wasn't a fan of the passion fruit bellini. We also ordered a Shot Tree which was an extra cost but was really cute. The decor is pink and girly and the music is mostly girly songs. As part of the bottomless brunch you have a time limit of 1.45minutes there. Once this time has come to the end i thought we could have stayed but just paid for the rest of the drinks we ordered afterwards but it wasn't the case. The server was lovely i didn't catch the name, and politely said that we need to leave as our bottomless...
