After the lack of respect the owner gives she lucky u can only leave a 1 star review. I visited early today and was applused to see how rude the owner was. Yes I get its her business but seriously if you can't talk to a customer don't bother doing this job. Critezium and disgruntled customers will often aire their concerns and expect a high level of professionium when dealing with complaints. Not giving abuse to a customer (my self) when asking why she allows a waitress to bring personal arguments with my family and my self to work. The other month my misses treated me and the kids to a meal and at the time the cafe was great. But on this day not knowing this member of staff worked there at the time was there and to be greater with glares and under her breath comments was beyond me and then to try and slate me in front of my family and upset my kids with her attitude towards us and her lack of customer service towards us ie spilling stuff and not cleaning our table to then go to another customer and treat her like royalty. We'll today after allowing any dust to settle I came back this waitress was off and I was greeted with a polite member of staff. To be given OK service when food was delivered to the point I was leaving was OK then the owner came to speak to me I thought and was greeted with abuse and threats. I asked in a calm manner to talk and resolve the issue but she didn't want to know. She said she was ringing the police and went as far as saying this staff member had every right to behave in her manner but not OK for me and my family to eat in the establishment. From a catering background golden rule is to not mix personal and professional work to your place if work and to treat members of the public with respect. The owner needs to look at her position and decide if the job she brought is exceltable and to behave in the manner she was. I expect to be treated with a good level of respect. But this was not...
Read moreProper 'cafe', no frills in decor just tables and chairs where you go up to counter to order food and pay (though whilst we were there there was a gentleman come in using a walker, so after the cafe assistant had told him about going up to counter to order food she realised this would be difficult for him so helped him to a table, gave him a menu and went back to table to get his order). Food wasn't fast at coming out after placing order, but we weren't in a hurry (quite a few delivery drivers in collecting for deliveries). I had ordered toasted cheese & onion sandwich which when it came was perfect. Done like the old days with the melted cheese literally holding the bread together and just enough onion in to taste but not overpower. Toasted perfectly too for me as not too 'toasted' but just browned and crispy as toast should be. Can't remember what Hubby had but it was something involving meatballs and he really enjoyed it too!...we both had can of pop too. served ice cold without the need for a glass....Smashing and the only way to drink my...
Read moreWith so many places to eat in Leicester it would have been easy to walk past the humble exterior of the Silver Street Cafe, but I'm so glad we didn't. This place should be famous, it way exceeded my expectations! I popped in early Sunday afternoon with my wife and son, mainly because I thought it looked cheap from the outside. The food was absolutely bang on. My wife and I had a full English breakfast, I went for the King Richard, she had a medium. My son opted for a cheeseburger n chips. Honestly the best value breakfast I've ever had. Not only tasty but literally king size. When the food arrived, quickly I might add, all three plates were way bigger than I was expecting. Amazing value. The King Richard breakfast is a real challenge to finish, it's enormous. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The service...
