I’ll start this review from business owner to business owner; this place isn’t working, and will continue not to work unless you start listening to your customers. First and probably your biggest issue, is your atmosphere. This place feels and sounds like a canteen, cutlery crashing about next to the bar, flood lit, kitchen noise, distant awful music. Dim the lights, get some candles, separators, move the cutlery drawer away from the ‘VIP’, put some nice music on. Make it more romantic and relaxing. Instantly appeals to dates, couples, generally most people. Second thing is the price, you’re central to a student city, competing with Nando’s, Ask etc. don’t tell me you’re above it, your food quality is fine, but not top notch. On par with Ask, students get discounts. They’re not going to take the lass they’re dating out here, not worth it. There’s 2 audiences you’re missing out on so far. The whole place has a cafe / canteen feel & is the reason it’s dead on a Friday night. The wine tastes cheap, advertise Moretti outside & sold out. This place had HUGE potential as the area lacks a good restaurant. Please read your feedback, make adjustments, no one wants to see another failed restaurant in the centre. Manager tries, but you need to change your target audience to fill the place.

First time visiting the Hull restaurant after visiting the Heron Lakes site previously. The food was lovely and I would definitely recommend the cheesy garlic bread (good cheese pull, pizza style) and the calzone which was massive and packed inside! Great value for money on these items! We also had the spaghetti bolognaise which was packed with meat and a generous portion from the lunch menu. Kayleigh was a great host and offered up some great food recommendations based on our usual food preferences! The malteser cheesecake was very light and had good flavours, with Pasco’s happily swapping the usual cream side for vanilla ice cream. Personally I prefer a thicker based cheesecake but it was still lovely! The interior is modern and we enjoyed the comfy booth for our meal. I’d ignore the recent bad reviews and give it a try for yourself if in the Hull City Centre. We will be revisiting again for sure!

First time visiting the restaurant. Honestly can not fault it. I have no idea why anyone would leave a bad review. We were warmly welcomed, looked after throughout our time at the restaurant, Alisha the waitress was lovely and the food was absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend!!

Firstly I would like to say we have frequently ate at cottingham pascos, gorgeous food 5star. However, pascos hull town centre utter utter letdown. Saturday evening 7.20pm. No staff 1 young girl for the whole restaurant on Saturday night, birdccages pretty but had a empty cold makeshift canteen feel, We was starving 4 people so knowing pascos in cottingham gave it a go. Disaster firstly ordered a lager ... nearly £7 ...a latte nearly £5 which was ultimately a hot glass of milk ... we sat for over 20mins after drinks came to be served for food and only managed to order by flagging the waitress down and asking if we could order . By this point we had practically drank our drinks. Order taken surley the food would be worth the wait nooooo. We sat in a half empty restaurant listening to the echo of clattering plates and no music , honestly it was like been sat in a canteen. In fact I have sat in hospital canteens with more atmosphere. Food took forever and we could see food sat under lights so wondered over yo see if it was ours as by this point there was only 3 tables with people sat and 1 of those had eaten. It wasn't ours but walked over to the bar to tell them there had been food sat under the lights for ages. Starving by this point finally the food came 😩 x 2 burgers costing premium prices I can only and did describe a tiny squashed, tasteless meatball burger, over cooked dry burned , cheese melted to nothing meatball in a bread bun ... and chips with scattering of salad over priced zero quality. Surly been an Italian and cottingham standard you could not mess up a pasta dish 😬 apparently you can seafood pasta left mist of it overcooked pasta overcooked chewy seafood and smothered in a claggy tomato sauce...and at £16 for pasta utter disappointment. Also ordered chicken, mushroom, onion in cream sauce with rice that was ok but not overwhelming again had better for much less in the town centre. I fear this buisness will be another failing disaster if these points are not actioned and will be yet another failed empty unit in town. Sorry canteen atmosphere, over priced, very poorly cooked food. It could be so nice with extra staff, warmer atmosphere, better pricing, bit of music . I will say they didn't charge for the burgers and agreed they looked appalling but tbh sadly our party of 4 will not return because if u can't cook a burger correct then really your not a restaurant as a burger is basic. Tbh I felt sorry for the waitress , little tip maybe the owners should read reviews , be present in the buisness on an evening and talking to people and check the chef qualifications. Quality checks , get more reliable staff as apparently 1 went sick (fair enough) and another didn't tell them they was going on holiday hmmmm. Need reliable quality staff who care and present management , your staff and foid quality, atmosphere and pricing are key and they all fail at the moment. So sad cottingham is fab but this is a tarted up empty unit with no atmosphere, it has soooo...

After seeing the fab revue on Hull Live and the offer of a voucher we thought this would be great to try out the Sunday Lunch board.

We arrived at the restaurant in Hull on time and was quickly shown to our table. We were given the menu & drinks menu straight away. A great start.

We then waited 20 minutes or so before the staff member who had greeted us at the door came over and asked are you still waiting? With an apology she then went over to the waitress who was dealing with our side of the restaurant to prompt her to pop over to us. We ordered our drinks. While waiting for the drinks, we couldn't help but notice the table next to us get there lunch but left most of it. Looking around we noticed alot of people still waiting, with one guy giving up the wait and going to the bar to get his 2nd drink himself. After what felt like a very uncomfortable 10 minutes the drinks arrived and we ordered our Sunday Lunch board. The waitress asked if we wanted a pigs in blanket added to the board so we said yes. As we waited for the lunch we couldn't help but notice the 3 waitresses on were just constantly saying sorry to the other tables. It seemed the organisation of the restaurant fell below standard. We had been in the restaurant a good hour before we finally got our meal. It was tasty enough, but felt like it was nothing we would rush back to. The beef was nicely done but couldn't understand why it had been served in chunks rather than slices. We asked for extra gravy with no problem, this arrived with the 1 pig in blanket. £9.95 for one sausage is far too steep in price! Once we finished the meal we asked the waitress for the bill. Another long wait. We started to put our coats on and still no one came over. Eventually we went over to the bar and decided to pay there. The waitress was polite enough, but there was nothing as regards to " How was your meal?" In hindsight I wouldn't rush back. I definately wouldn't pay full price for the Sunday Lunch board. I think when the vouchers run out, the restaurant will struggle to get bums on seats in that vast space.Pascos probably needs to be a one restaurant pony. Just to keep an eye on the service and kitchen for good service as there didn't seem to be anyone leading the floor when we visited. There is far too much competition for restaurants, it needs to up its game if Pascos is to...

We came to try out the new Pasco’s as we have eaten at the other ones many times. Unfortunately, we cannot say we will be returning to this one because we won’t.

The wait staff were very nice but gave us a lunchtime menu which we ordered from and then when it came time to pay we were told by someone else (possibly the manager) that we couldn’t order off that because it was the weekend. So the meal cost £10 more than expected, but we didn’t mark them down for that.. The woman we spoke to did grudgingly say she would give a refund of the difference, but her attitude was the last straw and we just didn’t bother.

The food was not up to the standard of the other Pasco’s. We had to ask for one part of one meal that had been forgotten. I have eaten many times at the other Pasco’s and all those have been remarkably similar in portion and quality. This was not.

I gave atmosphere a 1 because it felt like eating in a warehouse, like one of those pop-up restaurants. Very open ceiling, decor was not great and it just didn’t live up to their other restaurants.

I haven’t removed any marks for the fact that the heating was broken and it was absolutely freezing in there. We were about to leave and got moved to another table and they let us aim a little heater at our table. We wish we had left, because then we wouldn’t know that this wasn’t great.

If you want a great Italian meal, drive into Cottingham’s Pasco’s, it beats this one by miles and I’m sorry to say I don’t see the Hull one staying open for much longer if they don’t make serious improvements.

Oh and the parking there is horrible. If you have a large SUV, you probably won’t fit with the 6ft restricted height.

Not an epic fail, but not good either.

It is wheelchair accessible, so...
