Went to Mr Wang Hot Pot (王贵仁麻辣烫) after work with a friend — here’s a quick (and very subjective) review! For context, I love spicy food, but my friend can’t handle spice and prefers lighter flavors.
🔥 First of all, we were pleasantly surprised — every customer there that day got a free portion of crayfish! (Must be a limited-time promo.) It was really tasty and fresh.
🏠 The restaurant was clean and quite packed, which is always a good sign. And the playlist? Basically my personal playlist — great vibe overall.
🥘 I ordered the mild spicy dry pot, but honestly, it wasn’t spicy at all. It tasted more like sesame paste than anything spicy. If you love heat, definitely go for medium or extra spicy. Mild is way too safe.
🍜 Pro tip: Be cautious with carbs! I added noodles, and somehow they kept multiplying like magic. The more I ate, the more it felt like there was still left... 😅
🦐 I added lots of shrimp and was really impressed with the quality — super fresh and deveined. Highly recommend adding fried dough sticks (油条) too — they get chewy after being boiled, so satisfying!
🍧 The ice jelly had a refreshing coconut-jasmine flavor. Light, slightly icy, not too sweet — better as a drink than a dessert, and perfect after something oily.
🍅 My friend got the tomato soup base, which was mild and perfect for anyone who can’t take spice.
She was shocked (in a good way) to find salted egg yolk rice cakes in there — something we’ve never seen at any other hot pot spot.
We also shared a cold cucumber and squid tentacle salad — huge pieces, super refreshing, and I didn’t find it spicy at all.
Another highlight: the cheese-stuffed fish tofu — rich but not greasy, and really satisfying.

Definitely worth a visit, especially if you want a mix of flavors and spice levels for different preferences. I’ll be back for that extra...
Read moreI had the pleasure to visit here yesterday and I regret not knowing about this place earlier. One of the best hot pot places in my opinion. The staff there is very friendly and helpful.
The price is really reasonable considering the quantity of food you get for the price. I tried the spicy soup base with medium spice level and it tasted heavenly.
They have a huge variety of meat selections ranging from fish cakes to lamb slices and ox tripe. They also have vegan and vegetarian options such as tofu and mushrooms, spinach, bean sprouts, etc..., Moreover, they also have different noodle selections from Ramen to Udon and much more.
I would recommend not overloading your basket while selecting as it would really be difficult to finish it all in one sitting. 400-500g would be enough for one person.
Highly recommend checking this place out if you're a fan of hot-pots. It would be a great place for a warm comfy bowl in this chilly weather. The vibe is really great and the place is usually packed, so check with them...
Read moreI had an awful experience and I wouldn't try again this restaurant. Im not going to say anything about the taste of the food or the service even the atmosphere. because that day we ordered from uber eats. but what im going to talk about is the food hygiene and this needs to be very serious. The food delivered really soon and the package was perfect but except that, the food was awful. In the beginning we found a string in the food, we assumed it was just a small parts of the scrubber. Then, we found two hairs which were very unacceptable and one of it was stuck in instant noodle before we picked it up ....They looked completely different so we assume the hair might from different people in the store. we were extremely disappointed and we had tried to contact to Uber Eats first but no one contact us back. I hope after this comment the restaurant can be more serious about the hygiene so that everyone can really enjoy the...
