Returned in June 2021, a couple of years after our last visit....my original review really hasn't changed so I've just added a few more photos....at the bottom of my original review...which is...
A relaxing, friendly dining experience with first a class personal service.
It's not the first time that we've eaten here so when visiting London we didn't hesitate to book and to visit again. The owner always has a friendly greeting.
About a ten minute walk from the nearby Pimlico tube station or a small stones throw to the nearest Santander bike docking station. So tube there and a fifteen minute cycle ride back to the Park Plaza close to Lambeth Bridge via Vauxhall it was for us 😢🚲
A personal welcome and greeting from the owner in this simple no frills family run Italian restaurant. A great menu with almost as many specials as there are dishes on the main menu.
I opted for the mozzarella in carozza with olives in a light tomato sauce, then for my main I chose the monkfish from the specials board whilst my wife had the vegetarian cannelloni. Both dishes were well presented, mine with a side order of peas and miniature roastie potatoes whilst the cannelloni was cooked to perfection with a nice topping of cheese. The monkfish was tender and tasted beautiful. And of course our meals arrived together and were piping hot.
We had a bottle of the house white, with bread and chilli 🌶 olives to start.
For my desert I had the creme brule flavoured cheesecake. Very nice, creamy and just the right texture. There was a good selection of house special deserts including profiteroles.
No tea or coffee on this occasion.
A nice couple of hours, good attentive service. Up to the same high standards as our previous visits. A friendly handshake and a thank you from the owner on leaving.
A little chillie cycle ride back to our hotel.
Very happy to recommend an evening here, whether you're cycling or walking. We'll certainly be visiting again.
So returned at the end of June 2021...probably our favourite Italian restaurant in London. Excellent all round. The owner takes so much pride in his restaurant. So relaxing and great value for money. Never disappoints.

The toilets were immaculately clean and appear to have recently been refurbished and some additional seating has been added outside, and surprisingly enough the Santander Cycle docking station immediately opposite has been closed, maybe temporarily 🚲 not sure. Still plenty of others around, so still nice and convenient; 20 minutes back to...
Read moreDelicious! FRIENDLY! Accommodating! Well known with regulars who speak Italian with Carlo & Simon… the lovely (brothers) who own this gem! We’d arrived into London, later in the evening. Luckily, O Sole Mio was right on the corner and still open & still filled with happy customers. “Excuse me. Would you please be able to accommodate our family’s party of 5?”. A lovely gentleman replied, in a beautifully thick Italian accent, , “Ciao Bella! Of course! Follow me!”. We were overwhelmed by how delicious everything sounded, so we each ordered our own entree and then, at least, 4 more to pass around! I’m still dreaming of my carbonara… the best I’ve ever had. Everyone loved what they ordered (I’d lost track!). Save room for the tiramisu…TO DIE FOR! You could tell that there were many regulars, who probably had a standing time and table. They spoke Italian with Simon & Carlo. There was so much laughter. The staff was fabulous & so polite. They danced from table to table like a choreographed ballet…each with a specific job…and so happy to help you! Each time our family walked by, after a long day of sightseeing, Carlo or Simon would see us outside. They’d greet us “back home” and say to my daughter & I, “Ciao Bellas!” Kiss the tops of our hands and ask us how we spent our day! 💋🤌🏼. I miss them! I want Carlo & Simon to move to...
Read moreMy wife and I are visiting London today and were taken to this restaurant by a close friend who lives two blocks away on Belgrave Road. When we arrived, we were greeted very warmly by, Carlo, the owner of the restaurant. The first thing you notice is that everything in the restaurant is new and clean and very nice and stylish. The menu is rich with options, most of which are original recipes from northern Italy from where Carlo grew up. Our local friend ordered the veal Milanese which looked absolutely stunning and with which she was very pleased. My wife had clams in a white wine sauce with butter and olive oil and she swears it’s the best pasta ever for she has I ever had and we’ve traveled to Italy at least 10 times. I had the fresh cod prepared Vilanese style and it was absolutely divine and exceeded my expectations in every way. We finished our meals with various forms of coffee and my wife and I each had an espresso which was among the best we’ve ever had. Carlo takes great care in the preparation of coffee even down to the quality of the water that the machine uses to prepare the coffee. That’s what I call a person who wants to generate lots of repeat business. Not that it matters much to everyone who comes to this restaurant, but, the bathrooms are brand new and sparkling clean. What a great experience all...
