A Fullers public house that has a photographic depiction of the people that suffered this barbaric way of execution, by todays standards. The way in which this was done, is the name of the Public House, with the Heads being displayed on London Bridge. This was the London Bridge that was purchased by an American and now is in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. A noose is set up behind the bar. Again Dog Friendly. A great atmosphere Really made to feel at home by the bar Staff who even went to the trouble of moving tables for us, as they had a large group of people booked. Opposite is BrewDog, but they are aimed at different markets. A traditional range of Largers, Ciders, Bitters, I.P.A.s are available as is a variety of food. This changes weekly. Very highly recommend, you can learn just why this punishment was handed out and to whoem, a search of the walls may be needed. If you have a radar key, disabled toilets are on the same level. Again very close to the Tower of London. This is the number of people known at this time to have suffered being hung, drawn and quartered. 1663John SmithExecuted for participating in the Farnley Wood Plot1663William AshExecuted for participating in the Farnley Wood Plot1663John ErringtonExecuted for participating in the Farnley Wood Plot1663Robert AtkinsExecuted for participating in the Farnley Wood Plot1663William ColtonExecuted for participating in the Farnley Wood Plot1663George DenhamExecuted for participating in the Farnley Wood Plot1663Henry WatsonExecuted for participating in the Farnley Wood Plot1663Richard WilsonExecuted for participating in the Farnley Wood Plot1663Ralph RymerExecuted for participating in the Farnley Wood Plot1663Charles CarreExecuted for participating in the Farnley Wood Plot18 January 1676Joshua TefftUnlawfully fighting with Indians[46]1678William StaleyFirst victim of the Popish Plot[47]1 July 1681Oliver PlunkettLast victim of the Popish Plot1685over 200Charged with treason following the Monmouth Rebellion, their remains were parboiled, tarred, and displayed on poles, trees and lampposts; only when James II conducted a progress through the area were they removed and buried[48]16 February 1788Robert KeonHanged, drawn, and quartered for murder in a private quarrel[49] John and Henry Sheares, Irish patriots, were hanged on 14 July 1798, outside of Newgate Prison 1766Nicholas Sheehyan Irish Catholic Priest who was hung, drawn and quartered for supposedly aiding the murder of John Bridges(Though there are claims that Bridges survived) [50]20 September 1803Robert EmmetHanged and then beheaded once dead[51] for high treason in the Irish Rebellion of 1803.[52][53][54] He was also the last person to be executed in this way

My partner and I arrived into London on a late afternoon flight from Australia. After checking into our hotel we needed to find a great pub for a meal. We decided to go for a walk and see what we could find that looked interesting. We couldn’t resist the Hung Drawn and Quartered when we walked by. From the moment we walked through the door, I was struck by the beautiful interior of the establishment, which was filled with warm, cozy lighting and classic decor that truly captured the essence of a traditional British pub. Of course, the real star of the show was the food, and I can say without hesitation that the steak pie I had was absolutely delicious. The pastry was flaky and buttery, while the filling was bursting with tender chunks of meat that had clearly been cooked with care and attention to detail. The accompanying sides were also perfectly executed, and it was clear that the chef had a real passion. But what really made the experience special was the service. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and went out of their way to ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. Whether it was providing recommendations, checking in to make sure everything was to my liking, or just making pleasant conversation, the service was truly top-notch and added an extra layer of warmth and hospitality to an already great meal. Overall, I would highly recommend this charming British pub to anyone looking for a cozy, inviting atmosphere, delicious food, and outstanding service. Whether you're in the mood for a classic steak pie or just a pint of ale, you're sure to find something to love at this delightful establishment.

Hung, Drawn and Quartered is a charming pub-style restaurant that perfectly blends traditional British fare with a cozy, historic atmosphere. Located in a beautifully preserved building, the restaurant offers an inviting setting that feels both rustic and welcoming. The menu focuses on hearty, classic dishes like fish and chips, steak and ale pie, and bangers and mash, all prepared with care and generous portions. The flavors are rich and comforting, showcasing quality ingredients and good cooking techniques. The pub’s signature dishes are well worth trying, especially the slow-cooked meats which are tender and flavorful. The service here is friendly and attentive without being overbearing, contributing to a relaxed dining experience. The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and happy to offer recommendations, whether you’re pairing a dish with one of their excellent local ales or selecting a dessert.

We entered the pub and had to explain four times that we had a reservation as the waiter repeatedly misunderstood what we were saying.

When sat down, we did not have a high chair as had been requested during the reseveraation and, when mentioned, this issue was not rectified.

The initial service of taking our food and drinks was fine, although both items my son wanted from the kid's menu (burger and the toffee pudding) were unavailable. We ordered two pies (beef and chicken). The chicken pie was delicious and well portioned. The beef pie was fine, but could have been slightly hotter. However, the child's fish and chips was awful, with my son only eating the chips (he loves fish and chips usually). The batter was slimy and oily and the fish had an unpleasant taste. This was returned with a complaint. The manager responded by removing the fish from the bill (not the chips, as they had been eaten, which struck me as a little petty, considering a 'meal' is expected to be enjoyed in its entirety. Is Fuller's so hard up for cash they can't write off a portion of chips?).

Regarding the level of service, this was poor. We were unable to gain the attention of the waiter to order additional drinks, even though he was stationed next to our table. In the end, I had to go to the bar to get drinks whilst my food cooled on the table. There were bar staff standing around behind the bar showing something to each other on a phone, so I stood there for a little while before being served.

There was a general air of annoyance by the staff that customers exist and an evident lack of customer service skills on display. One particularly displeasing moment came when my wife and I were in conversation. The waiter (who as mentioned had pretty much ignored us prior) came to the table and placed a 'reservation' sign directly between us as we were talking. He literally leant between our faces to place the reservation sign, which involved leaning over most of the empty table as we were in the seats closest to the wall. The reservation wasn't for another two hours, so I'm not too sure what the urgency was that it needed to be placed at that moment or in that position.

Overall, I would say this pub is fine for a drink, not too expensive, very well located and nicely decorated. However, I would recommend people to try other establishments for food, as the service here was dismal, whilst the food...
