Yesterday we held our annual team party at the Theodore Bullfrog - and we had an amazing time. Our team of 50 people had exclusive use of their fantastic Upstairs Bar, and it really is a fantastic space. Classy decor and windows on two sides means a lot of natural light and a great atmosphere. Michael, Euan and the team could not have been more helpful from beginning to end. The booking of the space was super easy, and everything that we needed to host food, drinks, a quiz and an awards ceremony was in place already which saved so much effort on our part. We picked platters of food in advance and the quality was excellent. We had the sliders (there was a plant based option too) scotch eggs, sausage rolls, fries and crudités. All was delicious and cooked to perfection. The bar team for the night Euan and Mo, served us a special cocktail for our event to the get the party vibes flowing and nothing was too much trouble! The team had an amazing time and we are so grateful for the experience at the Theodore Bullfrog. I cannot recommend this space enough - surely the perfect Central London location for a party (next door to Charing Cross Station) and the hire terms are some of the best I have come across. We will definitely be recommending this to anyone looking for a perfect space for a party or for a training space that has some atmosphere and everything you could ever need to ensure ease of your event. Thank you Team...
Read moreWe popped in for a couple of drinks on Saturday at about 6pm with our friends whom we'd not been out with since the start of covid. Went to the bar and was greeted by the barmaid who happily took my order for two pints of Neck Oil and a Grey Goose and coke, but then proceeded to tell us that they didn't have my best friends wife's favourite tipple (Captain Morgans rum) as "we're not that cheap, hun". I've just had a look through your other reviews and wonder if it's the same barmaid who's had similar comments before regarding lack of customer service skills. It was my first time visiting the pub and will most definitely be my last. There are too many pubs in the area to bother visiting the ones where staff are rude and downright insulting to the customers from the off. I'm not a rum drinker, so I'm not sure where it ranks on the world's most expensive rums, but I'm guessing at the lower end. However, for the barmaid to say you don't have someone's preferred drink as it's too cheap is quite rude, and I actually think my friends wife was embarrassed by the comment. Also, we sat upstairs, and there was a very unpleasant smell. I'm not sure if it was the toilets or kitchen/washing up area. I've also seen this mentioned in previous reviews, so it seems that problems aren't addressed. If you're looking for a nice pub for a drink, steer clear of this place. Would give zero...
Read moreAbsolute idiot barman.
I had the misfortune to visit this pub last night with family for daughter’s birthday. I don’t usually waste my time writing negative reviews but the barman (who also called himself the manager, god help Young’s), needs to be called out. In 40 years of drinking in pubs around the world, I cant ever recall being served (and I use that word extremely loosely) by someone so arrogant, aggressive and obnoxious. Hopefully someone from Young’s (who’s pubs I visit frequently local to where I live and where the service is generally very good), reads these reviews and has a word with that clown before he goes for someone else or possibly even ends up in a fight. He basically called me out for not saying please to an order, I never buy anything anywhere in the world without using please and thank you but this idiot either convinced himself I didn’t or just wanted to wind me up. He was successful in the latter so we walked to the next pub where the service was great. Good luck if you visit this place, be prepared to bite your tongue if...
