We dropped in on a Sunday evening before going to Plymouth Pavillions. We were greeted promptly and were offered a couple of differnt tables. We were told there was a 2-4-1 on cocktails for £10 but we had to choose the same cocktail. We chose Tequila Sunrise and the drinks arrived quickly. They were pretty good and you could taste the Tequila. We orderd and the first course arrived quickly and were fine. The mains arrived in good time and we both enjoyed our meals. Why 4 not 5 stars? Just because the meal was good, though not outstanding, my Wife's chips were rather anaemic and just barely cooked.

Awful excuse of a place. The service is a joke, especially when the waitress said she is too tired to remember. The food was tepid after waiting for a hell of a time. When it arrived I was offered Nando’s sauce, ironically it was Bramwells (Lidl’s/Aldi). The fruit for drink was older than my Nan, and she’s been dead for many a year! Overall, zero out of ten. I paid for my starter and drink and left quick smart! AVOID!!!

I never go to a UK Mexican restaurant with a high expectation, and this met with my low expectation. I ordered enchiladas and it came out like a British lasagna and chips with a piece of lettuce! All the usual Mexican fixings were not on my plate!! If you are craving good Mexican food, it’s not here, but if you want average Mexican and do not mind fries served with it, you will probably enjoy it.

I do feel a little bit bad for not rating this restaurant more highly, however unfortunately I just don't think the quality of the food & drinks really matches the (relatively) high price point that they charge With this being said, you certainly do get your money's worth in terms of portion sizes as the portions are absolutely huge, depending on what you order of course! The dishes I've had were very filling with the main component (for me, usually a chimichanga or something similar) being very big on it's own, but also being accompanied by a generous helping of salad & chips

I also paid something like £8 for a cocktail, and I honestly wasn't even sure if it was alcoholic at all or whether it was just fruit juice

This isn't to say that I didn't enjoy the food - it was still very nice & I did leave feeling very satisfied & extremely full - I just wish that the quality of the food was a little bit higher, or maybe that the prices weren't quite as steep so that they'd be more appropriate for the quality of the food being served I do understand that times are tough with the way the economy is, and that restaurants have high overheads to pay of course so I will definitely go back again & maybe adjust my review after trying more of the dishes

I also would like to add that the service was fantastic, the staff were extremely friendly & accommodating - we felt like we were long time friends of the man serving us, rather than customers which is very rare to come by these days!

The atmosphere, decor, music & overall vibe of the restaurant was also very cool! I loved the music & the artwork...

A Wonderful Experience at Arribas Mexican Restaurant!

Absolutely fantastic experience yesterday at Arribas Mexican Restaurant, where we gathered a group of amazing women to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for an evening of networking, laughter, and celebration.

The restaurant staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and accommodating. They ensured everything ran smoothly, making our guests feel comfortable and valued. The service was prompt, and the team went above and beyond to cater to our needs.

The food was absolutely delicious! From the flavorful starters to the main dishes, every meal was well-prepared, fresh, and bursting with authentic Mexican taste. The drinks selection was fantastic, complementing the overall dining experience perfectly.

Our icebreaker activity encouraged meaningful conversations, helping women connect and share their stories in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. The evening ended with dancing, adding a fun and energetic touch to the celebration.

Overall, Arribas Mexican Restaurant provided us that perfect venue for our event. A big thank you to the entire team for making our International Women’s Day celebration a truly...

Great restaurant! Nice decor inside with some lovely touches and looked very clean and tidy. As said by everyone else the portions are huge, I have a big appetite(greedy) and i was stuffd, couldn't even finish my wifes leftovers. athe food is presented beautifully and usually sizzling and I was really spoilt for choice. The staff were really friendly without overdoing it and service was quick. It was pretty busy the night I was in and everyone seemed to be having a great time . Only one eensy weensy complaint, I had the Fajita which was amazing, however it only came with 4 tortillas , which just wasn't enough for the food on the plate , at least one more would have been better and extra tortillas are £1.95 each which then makes the meal stray to the more expensive side. That been said , I have booked a table for tonight and also for Saturday as well so the tortillas are certainly not a deal breaker...
