Absolutely fantastic and friendly serving staff, who were clearly overwhelmed by our large party. The food was probably the worst we’d eaten in a long while. Our group was 26 adults, which the serving staff split into groups of 6 to make it easier to organise the checks. We pre-ordered and confirmed orders upon arrival at 6.30pm for a 7pm booking. I was unfortunately one of the last to be served at approximately 8.30pm, having ordered just a starter of mussels to eat as a main which I decided to have a pint of coke with. My starter was well presented and the sauce the mussels were in was very tasty and flavoursome, however everybody had had ordered beef steak (in whichever cut) complained that it was over cooked, but having already waited so long, couldn’t be dealing with sending it back. Sauces (costing £2.95 per portion) were served after the individual had finished their meal in 4 instances. We were still charged for them. Being the designated driver, and sober, I offered to use my bank card to pay and let my allotted group of 6 reimburse me (in an attempt to ease the wait staffs job). I have worked in hospitality for over 14 years, so truly understand the pressure. Unfortunately though, due to the terrible organisational skills, and our rush to depart (the delayed meal meant that we were late for our next destination), I did not realise until after we’d left that I had been over charged by 5x carlsbergs. So a starter portion of mussels and a large coke, took over 90 minutes to be served and I am out of pocket an additional £27.50, meant that I paid £41.50 to eat 7 mussels and drink 1 lrg cola!!! :( I also got to listen to all of my 25 friends except 1 (she said her lamb was lovely), complain and moan about how badly cooked their food was, but we simply did not have the time to complain after the ridiculously long wait time. As I said before, the serving staff were very friendly & even if one was insistent on telling every female there that he was single, we took it as friendly banter, rather than creepy/inappropiate. Overall I would definitely not recommend spending you time or money visiting this “steak house”. I’ve seen more appetising steaks cooked in pubs, served quicker, with far more accurate tab keeping. Having driven 38 miles to attend this venue, I certainly won’t be doing so again.

Went for a family b'day, pre-booked table of 6, drinks ordered in good time, although there were no non alcoholic beers etc and the soft drinks were limited. Ordered the chicken tenders for starter with garlic mayo which were delicious and a good portion. Farmyard mixed grill for main with 30oz of meat, with a stilton sauce which was rich and creamy. the Farmyard really should be served on a hot plate from plate warmer cabinet as the food was pretty much cold half way through the meal, the portion size was great for the price, but not the best cut of steak and the lamb chop had virtually no meat on it. Table they sat us on with a bit cramped between the drinks fridge and long table near front door, we had to ask waiters to move the table a few times as we were just being bumped about and everytime someone went out for a ciggy the door was left open and being that it was a cold night we were having to constantly ask the waiters to close the door. The place seems very popular and had a real buzz to it but u could probably do with taking away one table of 2 to create a more open and relaxed space for everyone and get an auto door closer on entrance door. Waiters were all friendly and helpful.

I really wanted this to be good. The "appetizer" was crab, and being next to the ocean, I thought it might be fresh, especially because of the price. It was canned, and a sad beige colour. The steak looked like it was cooked on a grill that wasn't hot enough, and not long enough. Even if it had been medium rare as ordered, there was so much connective tissue, it was not chewable. My wife's steak that was the same cut, looked like mine, but thinner and pale like it was parboiled. Hers was completely raw inside. Service is one star because I showed them the issue, and they still charged me for the terrible steak that was not actually eaten or edible. The chef didn't seem to understand the problem. This is a place that had no other customers at 1830 on a Friday night.

First visit here, it'll definitely be my last.

Firstly, the service... It was TERRIBLE! Waited a bit too long for drinks to be served, which was quite irritating tbh. That aside, the menu is impressive but there's a fair amount to choose from. It would be better if the menu were made simpler as this can help a large group make choices quicker.

Secondly, the food. It took FOREVER to arrive and when it did my lever of hungry increased more because... No sauces/dips were brought out, despite having asked THREE TIMES for the ordered steak sauces and some ketchup for chips, it took easily 15 minutes for these to arrive. In the fifteen minutes waiting for sauces to arrive I noticed the chips were lukewarm to cold, as was the steak. The mushrooms, clearly the tinned variety, we're also cold.

Back to the chips... They were blatantly Oven chips, which were dryer than Ghandi's flip-flops in a sandstorm?! Easily the worst chips I have ever had in my life, I didn't even eat half of them. How on earth can you get CHIPS wrong?! (The resurfaced memory of this has angered me further tbh).

I almost cheered when sauces arrived, but this quickly turned to frustration because the food was unseasoned, bland and pretty much cold but the time everything eventually arrived... in stages.

The steak was well cooked, as I asked for, but dry as a bone, lacked flavour and was very disappointing to the palate. Given the price, it's a bit ridiculous to not have people feeling satisfied with the food they've purchased.

The tables were wonky, which got irritating very quickly.

The main, and only thing I was impressed by was one of the waiters went out of his way to get me a charging plug as my phone was fighting for its life and needed charging. Really appreciate that.

The atmosphere was ok, an attempt at a western setting - which helped to spark conversation about classic western films, which was nice. The restaurant was generally clean, but VERY cold with the AC on full blast... It's not even that warm yet.

Overall, this was an extremely poor eating experience that left me feeling underwhelmed, feeling like I needed a COVID test because the food was so bland and left bank balances a little lighter for a half-arsed eatery that serves pretty bad...

First visit to this restaurant and unfortunately it will remain a one and only.. We love a drink and a good night out the same as the next person, so this is just our opinion, and I have read lots of good reviews, but hey, each to their own.. We booked for a Saturday evening and arrived on time, staff were pleasant but rushed due to the place being packed with mainly loud groups. We were shown to our table that was next to a party of six guys out on a stag night, quite drunk and VERY loud, so loud that when our order was taken we had to point to the items from the menu as we couldn't make ourselves heard, other diners were having the same problem. We did ask if they had another table somewhere less noisy but all the tables were booked..Drinks and starters arrived promptly, we're hot and we're very nice. It's a shame the same couldn't be said about the mains... The steaks were less than impressive, very tough, lots of fat and gristle and not very hot, chips and onion rings were a bit underdone for me and not sure how they cook mushrooms but the tasted like they were cooked in baby oil.. We ate as much as we could.. We ordered more drinks but after 20 mins we gave up and asked for the bill that had to be sent back twice as we had been charged for things we never received (drinks) and overcharged for others.. All in all our nice evening out for a meal lasted 1hr 20mins. Whilst we understand that everyone has a right to a good night out, the management should have stepped in and asked the guy to turn the volume down a bit and cut the foul language out... I'm sure on another night it would be a different place but I'd give Saturday night in the Barbican Steakhouse...
