KFC Plymouth - Old Town Street — Restaurant in Plymouth

I've reviewed a few KFC and they have been up and down in the last few years. Previously you could rely on a chain to deliver on their brand but seemingly not so much anymore.

I popped in today just fancying a quick burger to go in a hurry. When I approached the person at the front, I was asked to just wait at the till. This seems another branch where the staff seem confused when people approach them instead of using the touch screens. I clearly wasn't being very observant as the person I'd approached was seemingly busy and not on serving duty. I noticed the till at the other end of the counter so walked over to the empty till. The person I'd originally approached made the effort to shout back and ask where the server was. A moment or two later, that person did come out and ask how they could help.

When I asked for a zinger tower I was a bit shocked by the price. £6.99! Not a meal, just the burger. I asked how much for the meal and this was about 2.50 more. I said I'd stick with the burger. When it came it was ok but nothing special. They seem to have swapped out the old zinger salsa for their "super charger" sauce. I preferred the old burger to be honest.

I'll include some pics of the new menu and prices. I don't know if this is across all KFCs but it definitely won't be somewhere I'll think of going again in a hurry now. As it was, when I thought the prices were reasonable, I was no longer that keen on their offering. Now their prices seem to have taken a massive leap, I'll almost certainly be giving their mediocre...

So I've ordered KFC though Uber eats a couple times now and 9 times out of 10 one thing is usually missed. Be it Hot Wings, drinks. Something trivial that usually gets refunded.

But tonight was impressive

What arrived:

Trilogy Box Meal - 1/2 Sml Popcorn Chicken - Boneless Fillet - Fillet Burger - Gravy - Pepsi Max - Corn - No Dip

Fillet Tower Box Meal - Fillet Burger - 1pc Overcooked skimpy drumstick - Gravy - 7Up - Corn - No hot wings

I'd like to add the food was stone cold, the delivery was an hour late which conveniently arrived when the store closed and to top it off my girlfriend has a corn allergy so I'm glad we were informed prior to this about the swaps 👏

Honestly it cannot be that difficult to read the order and put the correct items in the boxes. Well...

If I could put zero stars I would I have had the worst experience I ordered takeaway of just eat and when it arrived there was popcorn chicken missing and I only had 5 chicken in my bucket rather then 6 chips were freezing cold so I called up the shop explained to them that I would like my missing part of my order delivered to me then he said that it’s not there problem it’s just eats when it came from KFC it’s self I then said to the so called manager who you could tell was not a manager cause he knew nothing to do with the place he works at and couldn’t answer any of the questions we had I was fuming with the service I had and he then even shouted and swore at my partner absolutely disgusting I best get my money back oh and also the REAL manager should think who he is actually hiring because the staff member we had deal with us tonight should not be in a job like that if he doesn’t even understand basic...
