As I was waiting and waiting and waiting I have to start writing to express my disappointment with my recent dining experience at your restaurant. I visited on 13/05/2023 and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory.
Firstly, my party and I experienced an extended wait time of 40 minutes before our dishes were served, because I asked about it. While we understand that restaurants can be busy and there may be unforeseen circumstances, such a long wait time for a meal is unacceptable.
Furthermore, when our dishes finally arrived, I was disappointed to find that they were warm and dry. It was evident that they had been sitting under the infrared light for an extended period of time, likely around 30 minutes, which caused them to dry out and lose their flavor.
As a first time patron of Nando's, I have come to expect high-quality food and prompt service. However, my recent experience fell far short of these expectations. I was disappointed with the overall quality of the food and the extended wait time.
I am writing this in the hopes that you will take my feedback into consideration and work to improve the quality of service and food at your restaurant.

Despite a number of diners being present, at 7.45pm, the staff were cleaning up, putting chairs on tables, when closing time was advertised as 9.30pm, plus a number of staff were not wearing masks. When I approached the counter to ask where our desert and drinks were; after 20 minutes, all bar one member of staff were not wearing masks. The staff member apologised and gave me a refund for the drinks and desert, plus promptly, then, served us, but without her mask on.
Upon entering the restaurant we had been rudely asked to check in on the NHS app, no please, or thank you.
Whilst eating, a diner was asleep in the corner, at his table and four youngsters in a corner table, by the window, we’re constantly going to the toilet, walking around with no masks on. I can only assume they had bowel problems, or by their constant giggling were taking drugs in the toilet.
After a long and stressful day at work we had looked forward to an evening out, but quickly downed our second drinks and left, with no acknowledgement of this from the staff, with a goodbye, or thank you.
It is very sad that the excellent food is being let down...
Read more23/04/2024 UPDATE Back again to our favourite Nandos franchise in Plymouth at the Barcode, after a poor experience at the Barbican Leisure park location recently we decided to go back to this one as it was always better food and service wise. And this trip did not disappoint 🙏
Tried the new Smokey Churrasco sauce on my half a chicken and it was delicious, the heat was more than a medium but not too much and the smokey flavour works really well with the flame grilled chicken, everything arrived super hot and tasty.
Service was excellent from all staff, from the South African manager who was happy to serve us on the till whilst his staff were clearing tables. Chips had loads of peri salt on, corn on cob was flame grilled and tasty, lovely atmosphere in there again, good music, relaxed vibe even at lunch time, toilets clean and tidy, all staff happy and attentive.
Great job everyone. That's what a nandos experience should be 👍
