The Promenade Cafe Bar — Restaurant in Plymouth

This is a hidden gem in plane sight. Inside this beautiful building it has quirks and history in all corners. Protection from the breeze and a great view. The menu is well thought out with something for everyone including vegetarian and vegan. The bar, drinks, cakes and ice creams are a lovely selection. I recently enjoyed the nachos which had fresh and delicious ingredients, not the usual dry, drab offerings. The oat flat white was smooth and the prices are really good for the quality of the ingredients. The young team of staff were really lovely, engaging, friendly and clearly all knew what they were doing which makes the experience even better. My wife and I are severely disabled, mostly mentally, and we like to go skating with our children on the Promenade, we took advantage of parking in the carpark on the promenade as we saw it was for disabled people, what we unfortunately missed was the not so obvious sign saying it shut at 4pm (which is an odd time on a Saturday) Anyway to have the exit gate unlocked we had to go to the promenade cafe to ask for it to opened, and was unfortunately greeted with a completely bad rude moody attitude from the young long dark haired lady drawing our with her fingers a big sign saying there is a big sign saying it shuts a 4. Actually deserved 0 points because of VERY bad service. Three of us went to order "dine in" breakfasts, as advertised on all the menus. We could have spent something like £40+ but on trying to place the order, we were told that the "chef" was too busy preparing other types of meals to start doing breakfasts !!! A British way of how "not to do business" of course. There was no time limit indicated for stopping these items; it was just a random decision made at the time. If they can afford to turn away business, as far as I am concerned, they should not be in business and do not deserve to be in business. Absolutely shocking. So we went somewhere else, never to return...
