My wife and I have been coming to the Riverside location nearly every Sunday for the past 10 years. Unfortunately that tradition will continue at a different restaurant. On Thursday 2/6 we decided to go to our favorite breakfast spot, and take our family, that's visiting from out of town. When we arrived we said there was going to be 5 adults in our party, we were then sat at a 4 top table and the server pulled a chair over from a two top. Then I asked if we could please scoot that 2 top over to help accommodate the space needed for 5 adults, we were told no by the server, she explained "we don't move tables together because we get busy" it was 8am on a Thursday and there were two other patrons on the restaurant and it was empty otherwise. After taking our drink order, we were informed that one of our guests was brining her granddaughter, we informed the server that the party was now 6 and we'd need a high chair. She then instructed us to turn our table lengthwise to create more room, and then I asked if it was ok to move the smaller two top over to the end of the now rearranged table, and she again said "no we don't move tables" and I explained now our party is 6, how can 6 of us be sat at a 4 top and have enough room, and if we utilized the two top that would be 6 people and 6 seats and it would not take away from the restaurant's capacity. Then the server responded with an eye-roll and said "do whatever you want" and walked away. At that point we decided to leave and walk across the parking lot to Weck's. Weck's was substantially busier, and the hostess asked how many in our party and we explained 5 adults and 1 child so we'll need a high chair, the hostess at Weck's said, "absolutely no problem, let me get some tables pushed together and a highchair and we'll seat you shortly." I don't understand why this was not the case at Hannah and Nate's. I'm not sure if it's a new policy, but we've been there many times and have seen them arrange the two tables we tried to use to accommodate larger parties in the past. It was super disappointing to have been treated that way at our previously favorite...
Read moreArrived a couple minutes before 12:30pm, party of 4. Quoted 30 minutes to be seated. Ended up being seated after 1:15pm. Server took way too long to greet and get drink order. After finally placing lunch order, we waited about half an hour for the food (keep in mind, this is two extremely simple kids plates and two adult sandwiches). By this point I'm getting frustrated. I can forgive being seated and greeted late, but beyond that becomes too many areas of bad service. Ordered an open face chicken pesto sandwich, what a joke. It's 1.5 inches wide with a few tiny slices of chicken sprawled across both "open faced" breadsticks... and arrived cold. I'd generously value this sandwich at $7, absolutely not $12. Not to mention we were half done eating before my toddlers grilled cheese finally arrived at the table. Just wow. We were so excited to try this place and initially thought we found a new regular spot, judging by reviews and menu. They need to work on service, portions, hot food GO, and consistency. Also annoyed the manager came and asked every table around us how everything was, and intentionally avoided asking us. If he knew I was upset, he should have checked in. If he didnt know, why did he skip only our table? I was prepared to give honest...
Read moreLocal Recommendation At the recommendation of a local we tried Hannah & Nate's Riverside Plaza location in Albuquerque. I was most excited about the gourmet coffee options the local assured us they served, but that must be a different location, because Riverside only has black coffee with half and half creamer (maybe a French vanilla option). Aside from craving a matcha, we had a great experience. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient. We tried to reserve a table online but didn’t have the option and ended up waiting 30 minutes to be seated, not bad for great food on a Saturday afternoon of the 52nd annual Balloon Festival. However, we did notice they take call ahead seating. Had I known that beforehand we would have made a quick call ahead of arrival. The Sloppy "Jose" was a big hit and I very much enjoyed the New Mexico "Heavenly" Hash with sausage. We also liked the New Mexico Breakfast Bagel. As a local spot, it’s great, but as a tourist with limited time and tummy space, it didn’t knock my socks off. The food was great for as busy as they were, I recommend it over any chain option in the area. The atmosphere was good, just a little cramped, otherwise it’s a...
