Part 1) I was visiting from out of town and came in with my sister around 2pm on a weekday. Had a nice beer at a good price, but then shortly after felt as if I was hit on the shoulder at full force. Turn around to see locals and the bartenders playing a game where they were rolling a lime out the door to get closest to the parking meter out the front door. The bartender looked at me and laughs and says “damn, they chose to hit the one person who isn’t a regular” and went back to the game. Someone blatantly chucked that at me.
Part 2) For some reason my sister, her friends, and I decided to go back to Acme later the same night. I was called fat by a few of the locals, while coming out of the bathroom. Whatever, didn’t bother me much. However, later I went up to a female bartender (the same one that didn’t apologize about a lime being chucked at me at full force) and asked for “three Jose shots”. She looked at me with no emotion and said “we don’t have Jose”. I pointed at a tequila bottle right next to her and she said “we have Jose gold”. Didn’t put in any effort of asking if that would be ok. I just said “Jose gold is fine.” I said “can I have some limes and salt with that.” She just rolled her eyes.
I’ve been to local bars in my home town before and you don’t treat people like dirt because they are from out of town. I love Annapolis. Will tell everyone to avoid Acme...
Read moreI would give zero if I could. New employee in the area and ordered from there for lunch for the 2nd time. I got a weird vibe when I went the first time but thought it could just be me. Wellllll...ordered by phone and went to pick up. There was a good number of people at the bar (very nice day) and I waited at the end, which is standard for pick up wherever else I've gone. I waited a good amount of time, the female bartender glanced my way and looked away quickly. She served several patrons while I waited. Never looked my way again. After what I felt was too long, I tried waving, no glance. I moved to the center of the bar when folks left - she never acknowledged me. After she had no choice but to see me, she got my food. Now, I pay for lunch with cash - always. Order was $13.01 - I didn't have my purse so no penny. I gave her $14. Instead of just giving me my dollar back, she hunted around for my $.99 change - couldn't find enough and shorted me $.06. By that time I had to go, so I just took what she gave me and left. No thanks, have a good day, nothing. Got to my office and dumped the food in the trash. I don't eat bad intentions. Was it because I'm black, I wonder...? Hmmm. Never again - and I told the entire department about my treatment. So...
Read moreMy subordinate spent his friday night here (military, might I add) and he was yelled at by the bartender for "not tipping" despite the fact that he did tip on his first round of drinks and had only bought a single beer afterward. The bartender told him if he didn't tip, that he'd charge him an extra $100 to his card. He and his party were then removed from the establishment.
His card was later charged an extra $45 over what he owed. He's having to refute the charge that was made since he never authorized it.
The fact that this sad excuse of a business is willing to do this to people, and on top of that people who are part of our armed services who defend their rights and freedoms in this country is completely appalling.
If you have any respect for our country or yourself, do NOT support this business. Their conduct is beyond disgusting and completely...
