We have eaten at this location before, but will do our best to Not return. It was kind of busy when we walked in. We were seated within 3-5 mins. We asked for a booth, and there was one right by the restroom. Getting to the parking lot takes either cutting from the gas station/ then turning sharp right into the parking lot or coming from the interstate. Even google maps describes it wrong.
We heard the servers discussing amongst themselves loudly- "Hey did you get that table by the bathrooms?" Then when the server came over- the vibe was "she was either tired, rushed, or didn't really feel like getting our table. " I dont believe she really greeted us. A simple "hi, my name is" goes along way. They serve breakfast items (all day) and I asked for grits instead of hash browns. She informed me that they didn't have them. Not that they stopped serving them at certain time- just didn't have them. Ok- I'll get hashbrowns instead. I ordered a tbone- medium well. SCRAMBLED EGGS, with sugar free syrup for the pancakes. My daughter ordered the strawberry French toast, over medium eggs. It must have been too much to expect our food to be hot and cooked as we expected. My daughter had 1 egg over easy, and the other was fried. Eggs, steak, pancakes, grits, French toast was cold. She was expecting strawberry sauce with her meal. Nope. Wasn't fresh ripened strawberries. Steak was tough and WELL DONE. Not even a hint of medium. The server did try and improve the experience, she had found some sugar free syrup and I guess dug up some grits. I stuck my fork in the grits and could almost lift the solid substance up. I had asked for SCRAMBLED eggs, no additional toppings. In my egg there was a green pepper. I'm highly allergic to mushrooms. With the pepper, that shows the eggs were cooked in contact with someone else's order. What if that had been a mushroom, instead of a pepper? Whenever the server came by, she seemed rushed. She had the table beside us, with a family of 3. It would have taken only a moment to check on both tables; finish one then say "are we good, need anything?" She didn't refresh my drink- she did bring me one to go, when I asked. There was a long straight brown hair on my steak plate. My hair is black, curly with a copper tint. To top off this experience, I had asked for a to go box and before bringing the box or the check she came by didn't say excuse me, but got the steak sauce from our table. And as we were paying out, I notice the paper that says "health report available upon request". That's so suspicious to me. Most restaurants post the actual...
Read moreWe were seated very promptly, but the experience was all downward after that. There were seven in our party, so things like a water and coffee never being brought to one in are party is understandable; however the waitress never gave us a chance to inform her because she didn't come check on us. In total, our food took one hour and forty minutes to arrive. When it did arrive, a grand slam was brought instead of a burger, hash browns, a side salad and main salad were forgotten, not to mention the coffee that our guest no longer wanted. When we would bring up issues with the order, or asking for refills (all empty glasses), our waitress had an attitude and would say she was all by herself on that side. The manager definitely did not understand that customer service is how you keep customers returning. When checking out, the manager was trying to charge seven teas when only one in our party ordered a beverage, the rest of us got water. When we told her that, she was overtly skeptical and questioned us further. Due to the ridiculous wait for food and incorrect order, the manager did give us a 20% discount; however we already had a 20% discount from our last visit to be used in seven days, and it was not combinable. In essence we ended up paying the same amount we were going to pay, except with a ride and inattentive waitress, an interrogation from the manager, and an hour and forty minutes waiting for our food. To top it all off, while some in our party were paying, I was waiting at the doors with my back to them. I accidentally slightly opened them and apparently triggered the door chime that alerts them of new patrons. Well our waitress came out from the back and gave me a very very rude look, walked away, then turned around and gave me another ride look. At this point I was extremely frustrated and probably shouldn't have engaged, but I went to the opening of the back area and asked her if I was bothering her in some way because of the look she gave me, with her back still turned to me, she responded saying that it was all in my mind. I walked back to the lobby, and she followed and very rudely said that I activated the door chime and she thought customers were coming in. I responded saying I was unaware that was happening, but she didn't have to be so rude. She then walked off to the back. Needless to say, we all decided never to return to that Danny's. We should have taken our cue from a table next to us who were very upset...
Read moreMy husband and i stopped here for dessert. I didn't care for this location. We were sat immediately, and then our food and drink order were taken. After we got our drinks (chocolate milk and a coffee) we could hear our server telling the cook to add extra cinnamon to his dulce de leche pancakes, when we had asked for more dulce de leche, and when we flagged her down to correct her, she said she didn't know the difference (-2 to menu knowledge, -1 because it's a promotional item). I had asked for a strawberry shake and to have a cheesecake thrown in, special request but when I asked she said she could do it. I received just the glass, no extra. When I asked about it I was told that if they make the shakes properly, there's no extra....well if you add a whole slice of cheesecake to the proper proportions, you're gonna have extra because there's more going into it (-1 annoyance, -1 brushing it off like I have never been to Denny's before) lastly, I only had one cup of coffee. She refilled the tables on both sides of us twice while I had an empty cup. Outside of taking our order and delivering it to us the server avoided our table and never checked in (-5 to professionalism) but totally yukked it up with the 2 tables behind me. Oh I almost forgot, her manager showed zero interest in helping her or the customers (took time seating people after she had asked, never came out to the floor)
There was 1 table when we came in, and 7 when we left, the first table (2top), us (2top) third table (2top) fourth table (1top) and her last full table (4top) The last 2 she gave to the server coming to relieve her. (Two 4-tops)
Minimal tip for poor service, will never come back to...
