I dropped in the Annie's Thai Castle on a whim. I just moved to Buckhead a few months ago and have been making my way around to the various restaurants here, but hadn't hit Annie's yet. I passed it when I was out walking last night and decided to give it a try, and I am so glad I did!
The atmosphere inside is quaint, calm and upscale casual. It was a little on the darker side for lighting, so would be a really great date spot. The servers were friendly, attentive and efficient and the food came pretty quickly.
I had the Basil Spring Roll to start and it was wonderful. Lots of basil gave it a really nice snap, and the homemade plum sauce was so good that I was sad once I finished the app because I wanted to keep eating it.
For my main course I got the Pad Kee Mow, which was delicious. Just the right amount of spicy (be warned, I like spicy so your mileage may vary) and everything g was cooked perfectly. Rice noodles are easy to overcook but they got it just right.
I also had a neat bourbon and their pricing is great and I felt like the pour was generous. They have a full bar, so pretty much anything you want would be available with your dinner.
Overall, I highly recommend it and can't...
Read moreI have been a regular customer here for a while now. But however, last week 1/30/2020, me and one of my friends went to the restaurant. We arrived around 9PM and were seated. Before we could even place our order, a lady I am assuming was the cook, comes out and is blatantly complaining and upset about having to cook for a new customer saying the kitchen is closed. Though she was not speaking directly to us we were the only ones seated and it was very obvious her rant was directed towards us. As a customer this made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. It was very unprofessional how the lady was behaving so my friend and I decided to leave without ordering. On our way out the lady then comes to us saying “come back later, we are closed.” However Maps stated that the restaurants closed at 10pm. I let her know and she insisted the kitchen was closed. My experience on Thursday was Incredibly disappointing I have never been treated as such at any restaurant t before and the restaurant should address this with their employees. Since then I have been asking to speak to a manager and Ofcourse none was...
Read moreJust went in Annie's today to get a to go order. I asked the waitress if I could substitute the soup for the egg roll and she told me I could as long as I ate the soup at the bar while I waited. I finished up my soup and my to go order came out followed by the chef (Annie?!?), who in not so nice terms informed me that what I did was not allowed and I would not be able to do it anymore. I don't feel that it was necessary to come out and berate me in front of other diners for eating soup at her bar. This situation could have been handled in house after I left by informing the waitress this was not allowed. I hope she feels good about telling a 6 month pregnant lady that she can't eat soup. I feel like Elaine from Seinfeld. But making customers feel bad and telling them they are wrong is a sure fire way to ensure I won't ever return and I will let everyone know about the treatment I received at Annie's Thai Castle.
Sidenote: The soup was terrible, I wish I'd stuck with...
