A Taste of Atalian Read Time 1-3 mins
Let me start by saying “MAGNIFCO!” I will try my best to explain in words the excellency of this restaurant; however I suggest an in person visit. How shall I start? Hmm let me start with how I happened upon this fantastic place. I was staying at hotel near by and stumbled upon this fine eatery while taking a walk. (Please check out my review on that). I saw an electic sign hanging down that immediately drew my attention to the building. When I got closer to see what the sign was drawing attention to, I saw a menu placed on a building wall. I glanced over the menu and was astounded by the offerings. I knew I had to give this place a try.
I walked in and was a little confused, because I didn’t see a restaurant. However, I did hear light noise coming from upstairs and decided to investigate. Up the stairs I went and what I found was a beautifully decorated dining experience. Unsure if I would be able to get a table as a walk-in, I asked if I could eat at the bar. I was assured with a friendly nod and escorted my self to the bar. At the bar I was warmly welcomed by the bar associates. I was given a menu and was eager to take another glance. There were a plethora of deliciously described menu items to choose from. Being a lover of salmon I chose that. I am so grateful for that choice, because that salmon was cooked to perfection. The butteriness, the light sear, the juiciness all impeccable. The salmon was perfectly paired with greens beans and this creamy perfectly cooked risotto. My oh my, I wish I was eating this again right now. I slowly tried to savor every bite, but practically devoured it in minutes.
I knew this salmon would coincide well with wine and wanted a nice Sauvignon Blanc. I quickly glanced over the wine list I was given. I incorrectly made the decision of choosing my go to wine, Chardonnay. This was not a great pairing, because the Chardonnay I chose was not buttery. It did not complement my salmon well, yet it did not ruin my delicious meal. I would suggest pairing the salmon with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.
Ok on to dessert. For dessert I chose a favorite of mine Crème Brûlée. OH MY GOODNESS! The Crème Brûlée was exquisite. I’ve had my fair share of Crème Brûlées and this one wins by a landslide. It was so creamy with a perfectly cooked caramelized top. I wasn’t a fan of the decorative mint on top however, the strawberry was a nice touch. Please, please, please try the Crème Brûlée you won’t be dissatisfied.
Overall my dining experience was stellar. Although I chose what I wanted, I’m certain all of the options are equally as delicious. The staff needs an award for their attentiveness and hospitality. The atmosphere is great for any occasion. Whether you are looking for a meal after work, dining with family, or on a solo date, this is...
Read moreDowntowns Secret Italian Get-away!! A very friendly man on the street, named Vee, lured me in. He spoke to me about an amazing Italian restaurant on the second floor. He regailed us of authentic italian cuisine and what a comfortable atmosphere it had... He was not lying, and I apologize for my skepticism.
Vee ushered us onto the second floor, where I was welcomed by the manager Tarker (my apologies if I have the name wrong.) We were seated in a rounded corner overlooking the entire restaurant. I would dare say, the best seat in the house. The design of the decor was a well thought out planning of industrial and old world. On one end, recessed wainscoting with gold trimmed filigree, on the other with rounded edged design to alleviate unceesart acoustics that reminded me of the Roman domes. The lighting is set in yellow/orange tones, giving a more intimate feeling. Needless to say, I felt very underdressed, as I was attending DragonCon.
Drinks started with a Peach balini and limoncello cosmopolitan. Both absolutely amazing. The peach balini, having fresh peach puree with a delicious prosecco. The limoncello tasted so very fresh. I should have ordered a second! Had to test them on the basics. Lasagna and Shrimp Scampi. Lasagna had a very well seasoned beef mince and fresh tomato sauce that melded so well together. Shrimp scampi was not overly sauced (sometimes, there is too much butter). The white sauce never broke, and it excentuated with flavor of the very large and perfectly cooked shrimp. I have not seen shrimp butterflied and twisted into the shape they presented it. The pasta was perfectly aldente. Vee provided such amazing service. We truly felt as if we were guests, and not just another patron. Vee went on and explained every aspect of the restaurant and asked for feedback on the meal and drinks as we took time in between. I have never felt so welcomed and entertained.
On the second trip (the next day): We were met with smiles all around. Smiling Vee welcomed us as he was assisting other servers. Tarker with a smile and a handshake, taking us over to our table. We were introduced to Yoseph, our server. Yoseph took the best of care of our table. The level of service her gave was way above any I have received in such a very long time. Glasses remained filled. Everything came out in perfect time. The Chicken Pesto Penne was exquisite. The pesto was so vibrant and fresh. My wife enjoyed the chicken parmasean. The portion of chicken was huge! Battered perfectly, smothered on that lovely fresh tomato sauce and mozzarella.
I am so very grateful that Vee brought us in. It has become our newest favorite Italian Get-away. Any chance we get to come back, we will...
Read moreMe and my friends went there for prom last night. There were 11 of us and we were sat very quickly. After we were sat our waitress came over and gave us water while we ordered our drinks. Keep in mind that the restaurant was not busy at this time. The waitress came back and we ordered our food and waited for our drinks. It was only then when we were out of water that our drinks finally came out along with our food… 35 minutes later. Along with our meals we got bread which was also supposed to come out as an appetizer. We then ate, which the food was pretty average, and asked for the checks. She finally came back and proceeded to tell us that the restaurant policy says that parties of six or more would not be able to split the check. We then asked if there was anything that she could do as many of us are working teenagers who are paying with our own money. One of the girls in my group asked for the manager to which he came over and rolled his eyes at us while telling us it was an inconvenience to split the checks. While my friend was in the middle of explaining our situation to him, he rolled his eyes and walked away. Our waitress came back over and told us the she could take multiple forms of payment for the check so we calculated what we each owed only for her to tell us that she couldn’t do specific values and that all of us would have to evenly split the $500 bill with a cap of 6 cards. Thankfully one of the girls had her moms card so we could pay the bill with that and give her mom the money that we owed. I do understand that large parties do have the tip included as for many other restaurants, but as working teenagers we also understand that the service that we got did not warrant an 18% tip. It was very disheartening to see them clearly taking advantage of our age and feeling completely helpless in the situation. Do not let your kids come here, they are rude and they took advantage of a group of kids just wanting to have a nice dinner...
