Quite possibly the worst experience ive had in recent memory. As someone who worked in the industry for a long time in my younger days, I can totally understand that some nights don't go as planned for restaurants with either being understaffed or perhaps everything not working as it should meaning i can tolerate some hiccups. With that said, Im not entirely sure what the problem was but it was an unbelievably chaotic and disappointing experience. The host was the ONLY professional one there. There was only room at the bar so me and my friend sat there to have our dinner after driving straight from the airport (id just gotten off a 6 hour flight and was so excited to try MF sushi). The bartenders moved UNBELIEVABLY slow for such a busy night....and i do mean...painfully slow. They did not communicate with eachother which lead to us having to ask for something several times to different ones. She got our order wrong which i suspected would happen , i was immediately alarmed when she assured us they can remember our order by memory when we gave it (....why is the theatrics necessary? Just write it down sis). I dont think anyone expects them to perform on such a level where they can memorize elaborate orders, HOWEVER for the kind of money the average patron there spends, i think its fair to expect adequate service where we atleast get the order right. I would have been thrilled to have had service where my order was taken correctly, some light banter if time permitted on their end at the bar and enjoy delicious sushi in a timely manner. drinks came out LATE as we were waiting for our food....because again, they moved so so so SO damn slow for such a busy night. and when the food did come out, the app and one main came out (we had ordered a few apps and one entree each)...ummm so my friend is meant to just watch me eat my entre? It is standard to bring out entres together. Apps come first, then entrees come out together. This is how it is literally everywhere in the world 🌎. She'd 100% forgotten to put the orders in on time (that was obvious when i asked her about the 2nd entree) and correctly...since she forgot the order she swore she could memorize. I then express this to the manager who didnt seem to understand the issue and totally blew it off. He was overwhelmed and not in a position to take my concerns seriously which was annoying since ya know, im paying alot of money here for service and food. Fresh off a flight. Exhausted and hungry.
THEN the bartender had the nerve to have an attitude with me for reporting the issue to her manager.
We speant nearly 300$ at this place, Beautiful location, excellent atmosphere but I left absolutely mortified and embarrassed at the lack of professionalism and severely undervalued as a patron.
Sushi is my absolute favorite and i was so looking forward to this experience.
The sushi was delicious but im definitely not moved to go back anytime...
Read moreI have eaten at MF Sushi several times in the past, and it was always incredible. Tonight we went for my daughter’s 17th birthday, as she had never been. To start, we needed to change our reservation time. I called the restaurant several times, and left a message the first time I called, but never received a response. When we arrived we were seated immediately, and the restaurant was half empty all night (it was on a Wednesday). Our waiter, although nice enough, was abysmal. He brought out each roll individually, and started with my 11 year old’s dinner (it was ordered from the appetizer menu, but we explained that it was his dinner as he didn’t like sushi). Finally, after a torturous 1 1/2 hour experience, I finally cancelled the last roll that we were still waiting on. I couldn’t find our waiter, and when I went to the sushi counter to cancel the last roll it was just sitting there waiting to be delivered to our table. I then flagged down the waiter, explained my frustration, and then asked for the check. He did bring us complimentary mochi, but added a 15% gratuity to our bill. We put our credit card on the table immediately but still had to wait almost 10 minutes to have our check picked up by the waiter (and this was right after I had complained to him about the wait!). To cap it off, when I came home I saw that Open Table had emailed and said that the restaurant said we were a no show.
The sushi, although not bad, was basic- not at all like previous experiences. Perhaps this was because we were waiting between 10-15 minutes for each roll, and there were 6 of us, so everyone just got 1-2 pieces at most at a time.
I am highly disappointed in MF Sushi, and especially since it was supposed to be a special. birthday for my daughter. Based on tonight’s experience I will not be coming back. Very overpriced for just ok sushi and terrible service. I don’t know what happened because it was my favorite place to go...
Read moreWent last night for the pre fixed Valentine menu. Started with ginger mocktails that were out of this galaxy. The plates started coming of the most beautiful, delicate fish that just melted onto your tongue; snapper, salmon, yellowtail. This must be how God expected fish to be eaten— with a tiny slice of jalepeno. The nigiri came out with each piece building up to an explosive mouth orgasm. Did I detect the wasabi with the fatty tuna was soaked in Japanese whiskey? .A jolt went right up my nose and to my brain. It took me a moment to recover and take in what happened . Sushi ecstasy. I’m not a raw shrimp girl but give me more of it! How did it get so tender? By the time the Wagyu came out , we were satiated. It didn’t stop us from taking a bite. The meat was like full fatted unctuous meat butter. It was a wonderful touch having the server grill each delicate slice in front of you. We skipped the dessert. How can anything compete with what we just experienced and I really don’t think anyone needs another crème brûlée or another dry chocolate cake. I wish these places caught on to the palates they are cultivating and started making artisanal candies like sugar wasabi crack. Anyway, we rolled out of there very satisfied with our whole experience. As a regular of both MF and Mujo, I do opine that MF Sushi is the most underrated haunt and its treatment of fish is a master class. Just truly exceptional food that is treated reverently with love and served with grace in a rather unassuming little place. Truly decadent...
