Eclipse di Luna - Buckhead — Restaurant in Atlanta

I don't usually write reviews, but Eclipse di Luna earned every word of praise I’m about to give. My girlfriend and I stumbled across this place on a random Saturday night, and from the moment we stepped inside, we knew we’d found something special. Tucked away at the end of a quiet industrial road, it was like finding a secret hideaway—alive with energy, packed with people who clearly knew they were in on one of Atlanta’s best-kept secrets.

Right as we walked in, we were greeted by the pulse of live music, instantly setting the mood for what would become an unforgettable night. I’ve eaten my way through Atlanta’s restaurant scene for a while—sometimes feeling like a professional taste tester—and let me tell you, Eclipse di Luna didn’t just impress me, it raised the bar. It’s the closest thing you’ll get to an authentic European dining experience in the city—probably even the entire South—where the food doesn’t just fill you up, it transforms the evening into a full-blown celebration.

We ordered a variety of tapas, and each one was a standout. The fried green beans arrived perfectly crisp, their delicate breading giving way to the tender snap of the beans inside. But the real showstopper? The macarrones con trufa. Every bite was pure luxury, rich and decadent without being overwhelming. And here’s the thing: you don’t even need a big portion. It’s so packed with flavor that even a single bite feels like a complete experience. You know a dish is good when it fills you up with taste alone—it’s like each forkful carries the flavor of a whole meal. I watched my girlfriend, eyes closed in bliss, savoring every morsel. She rarely finishes her food—this time, she didn’t leave a crumb.

What made the night even better? It didn’t break the bank. For the level of quality, ambiance, and experience we had, the prices were more than reasonable. Eclipse di Luna strikes that perfect balance—you feel like you’re getting something special, yet it never veers into overpriced territory. In a world where “tapas” often means “paying way too much for tiny food,” this place actually delivers great value. Finally, a restaurant where you don’t need to take out a loan to feel full!

We were so blown away that we came back the very next week, and I can confidently say this is now my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. It’s not just about the food; it’s the whole vibe—the atmosphere, the live music, the feeling that you’ve discovered a place that’s all about celebrating life (and let’s be honest, a lot of good food).

Friday night visit... The good:

Free parking, good location. Only had to wait 20 mins for a table. Place was packed, full of great music from live band. Dress code was mostly uppity-casual, semi-formal, semi-business; crowd was single people and couples. The lamb chops, cod fish fritters (my photo), and calamari were very, very tasty. The honey accented ripe plantains(maduros) were great too. The paella wasn't bad, but had a lack of edible chicken as it was mostly bone. Keep in mind this is a restaurant that serves Tapas styled dishes. So the entrees are really appetizer sized portions (with exceptions of paella and other seafood dishes), so you most definitely will have to order multiple dishes to get full. I had everything mentioned; my wife had the paella and calamari. The service was great, and if you are on a date, the patio seating is more appropriate.... unless you want to be near the band of course.

They had a lot of choices for vegetarians too. Great menu.

The bad:

We were reeeeeeally expecting salsa, meringue, etc dancing as advertised...but that never happened. There was only but 5 feet of floor available to dance on (2 couples), so they need to reorganize how they plan actual dancing. There were way too many tables setup up front taking up dancing areas. It should not be all eyes on 2 couples. You're better off looking for a real Latin club.

The drinks were terrible. The sour apple martini and Patron margarita I ordered were both illmade as if their bartender was very inexperienced......and at $14.99 each, I was not a happy camper. My wife had the Pinot Grigio and it was cheap quality to say the least. To be less than graphic, let's just say it did not agree with her and her meal was wasted.

Bottom line for me is that I won't be going back. This place has great potential but they need to get with the program. I did not complain to the management but if I had known what the deal was beforehand, I would have not chosen this place for my wedding...

We visited eclipse di luna, Buckhead location and will never be coming back again. We initially had decent service, by that I mean we waited for our waters for 30 minutes, and were ordering off of the happy hour menu when our server told us that the happy hour drinks were ALL cocktails listed on the specific menu she handed us. keep in mind the happy hour menu does not specify which drinks are happy hour drinks. So since our server told us EXPLICITLY that they were all the $5 happy hour special, we ordered them. We get the bill and saw that NONE of our drinks were happy hour drinks, but were full price. We ask for our server who goes to the back to ask about our bill, when she comes back she told us “her bad, she was wrong and that the drinks weren’t happy hour specials and there’s nothing we can do” we ask for the manager since that’s a ridiculous explanation and we were going based off of what she told us since she’s THE SERVER. The manager then comes over and blames us saying that he would take ONE drink off but he wouldn’t fix the bill the next time and that it was basically our fault. We explained that the server told us explicitly that they were all happy hour and there’s nothing on the menu to justify anything and he seemed bothered and took the bill to “adjust the pricing” we get the bill back from him and he took off one drink so we were still paying for TWO full price drinks which the server told us were “happy hour drinks” irritated we gave our card to the server who like a light switch started being extremely rude to us. After we get the check back and mind you we have already paid, the manager decides to come back to our table and take one more drink off but still makes a point to blame us for the mistake. Even though both the server and manager were rude we tipped our server even though, which she called “confusion on our part” was her blatant mistake. We do not recommend this location as management is extremely rude and is highlighted...
