UPDATE: To my below review since I can’t reply to Gu’s response. If the food that was ordered at 8:44p was ready at 8:50p, you would think that this would be reflected in the pickup time. It was not. Nor is it my job to monitor when establishments open or close or for them to be transparent about their availability or ability to service me prior to taking my money. I was literally across the street. I’d also be more than happy to introduce the manager to the security guard as it sounds like their true issue should be with them. Regardless of where the food was left, it was not made available to me. I don’t understand what is so difficult to comprehend about this.
For the record, we continued to go back and forth with this establishment and ChowNow to receive our refund, well into the next day. ChowNow, in disbelief that Gu’s would not practice any decent customer service considering the circumstances, gave us a full refund even though they did not pocket the full payment. Ridiculous. Essentially, Gu’s has now stolen from me and from their service provider. ChowNow should drop this place from their platform.
Original review below. It will not be changed, and PLEASE believe I will tell everyone I know to stay far away.

I wish I could give these thieving folks 0 stars but I can’t. We put in an online order at 8:45p and received a pick-up time of 9:04p. However, KSM closed at 9p. Upon arrival, the security guard told us that there was no takeout waiting and no one from the restaurant was on-site. He also went on to tell us the management of this establishment is terrible to the KSM support staff and that the security NOR the custodial staff will engage with them (so they are probably dirty as hell on the other side of the counter).
We reached out to Gu’s and ChowNow to get a refund and they told us that Gu’s refused to honor our request, claiming that they lost too because they already made the food.
I don’t understand why this place would accept an order and start a transaction that they couldn’t complete. The customer service and consideration is horrible. Avoid this place at all costs, especially since it costs too much to not guarantee that you’ll actually...

Gu's Dumplings is the product of an artist's unfettered creativity and pure skill.
The main "complaint" I see about this restaurant is that the dumplings are "oily". To those who have the sheer nerve to make such a claim, I ask you to look up what szechuan dumplings are. Do a quick google image search. The sweet and spicy liquid that drenches these incredible dumplings is the secret ingredient. It's all in the sauce. It takes an already incredible, soft, tender dumpling filled with high quality, juicy pork and turns it into one of the greatest things I've tasted in my damn life. If you're not ready for the "oil" then real szechuan dumplings are not for you. Begone from the House Of Gu and never return.
The spring rolls are some of the highest quality I've had in the US. Spring rolls are unfortunately a cheap snack in a lot of Chinese restaurants. They're tasty, but nothing special. Gu's spring rolls are crispy, bursting with flavorful fillings. And when you dip it in the dumpling sauce? Welcome to Nirvana.
But the final nail in the coffin for your hunger is the crispy beef. The Crispy...freaking...beef. Always get it with a side of dumpling sauce but make sure you don't let it get soggy because you're gonna want that amazing texture. Each morsel is packed with flavor, as the beef is cooked in a medley of traditional herbs and spices. The szechuan peppercorn is only mildly spicy, but it literally makes your lips and tongue tingle and go slightly numb, resulting in a delightfully pleasant sensation. Szechuan peppercorn is supposed to do this so don't be scared! Just embrace the culinary satisfaction only Gu can provide.
I could go on and on about the dan dan noodles, the chengdu noodles, the delicious bubble tea that just makes your mouth happy, but why should I keep typing when I could be eating some more dumplings?
In closing, screw the haters. This restaurant is so damn good I'm willing to have it delivered across the city just so I can experience it. Gu: if you're out there, you're my hero good sir. Keep fighting the good fight, and continue to fill our bellies with...
Read moreWe arrived shortly after 11 and placed our order, 1 full order of dumplings, children’s fried rice, 1 extra spicy chicken, and 1 order of cold noodles.
I was told it would be 15-20 minutes. We walked around for a bit and found a spot to sit. I went back after 15 to check and was told “10 more minutes”. I then went back 10 minutes later and there was a different person helping package orders, she just said, “I’ll keep an eye out for it.” I waited around by the food stall. After a bit, the original person returned. I asked about it and she explained that because they had gotten so busy with their door dash orders that it would be 20-30 minutes. I let them know how unacceptable this was, at this point we had an angry 4 year old. I demanded to speak with the manager and have some money returned because of the wait. The person just typed for a couple minutes, then went to the back to talk to the chef. After about 10 more minutes, she returned with my food. All in all, we were seemingly the first in-person customers and from order to food at a “quick-service” food hall, it was about 45 minutes for our food, all while watching guests who came after me order and receive their food.
This has been going down hill for sometime. The change of noodles in the cold noodle dish from the thick noodle to a thin spaghetti-like noodle was unfortunate, but they were still good. Unfortunately they were flavorless this time. The veggie dumplings we also flavorless. My extra-spicy, Chongqing Spicy Chicken, included no green onion as described, It was just over cooked pieces of chicken and pieces of dried/fried chili. In all it had no flavor and very little heat.
We have come here since Krog Street opened, but this will be the last. I went back to complain about the quality and overall experience, but now there was a longer line. I totally understand and empathize with restaurants who are suffering, but this is a case where I wish I could have rescinded gratuity. I’m reaching out to American Express...
