So let me start by saying for weeks I have been wanting to go to this interesting establishment.
I am a vegan vegetarian and I love, love, love Kale.
So I drive for a food delivery service and I was lucky enough to have to stop in, after wanting to get here for so long I was excited to be able to finally stop in even if it was for work.
I got in and found out that I had to place my clients order at the counter, no problem. I immediately texted my client to let him know I just placed his order and would text him when I was on my way.
10 mins pass, 15 mins pass, 20 mins pass & Im still waiting behind 3 other customers who at this point you can only imagine temperatures are boiling (because most people only have a 30 min lunch break and that includes the time it takes to get there)
Well the counter clerk who was amazing - kept apologizing for the delay but saying they had a large catering order that was being processed (in ATLANTA during LUNCH) and all our orders would be coming soon.
I pulled the counter clerk aside and explained as gently as I could that no one wanted to hear about the large catering order that was holding up our orders - just as the landlord does not want to hear the excuses why your rent is late.
The client before me was furious at this point and said he only expected to get in and out and now he was here for more than 30 mins for a single order.
I had 2 wraps and a sandwich and waited 29 minutes!!!!!
The manager perhaps did not think this large catering order (13 sandwiches) that only came in perhaps an hour before would have a domino effect on the clients who thought enough to patronize this establish only to be put last because they had to get the catering order processed.
I who was so excited to come in had a completely different view upon leaving and although they offered me a complimentary juice - I am probably not going to patronize this place.
To succeed in the restaurant industry you have to have systems, think subway, think mcdonalds. Running a business like this, making 4 in house clients wait 20-30 mins for - a smoothie (1 client), a sandwich the other, a to go order, and me with my 2 wraps and a sandwich makes absolutely no sense.
Creates systems and stick with the rules, no same day catering orders, no client should be made to wait more than 10 mins and hire more than 1 chef - at least get her a prep cook - this chef had to walk to whole length of the store to get to the fridge for ingredients it was all a sh*t show. Outrageous. What if you had more than the 4 clients? How do you grow like...
Read moreThey were really busy when I went with two friends Sunday at noon. It wasn’t a lot of people really, but 6 or 8 in front of us, but our food still took 15-20 minutes. But the lady let us know ahead of time. They must have a small staff in the back. The employees there are nice.
Even so I’d rather go to UpBeet at that point if only because I can get free parking and the line for a smoothie bowl is pretty much nothing and my bowl there is always delicious.
The deluxe açaí bowl I got was pretty soupy, which I’m not a fan of for smoothie bowls. Toppings were yummy but pretty standard. My friends wrap was falling apart as she ate it, so points off for that but we enjoyed laughing at her. Ditto to the person below who had chunks of açaí in their bowl. My friend and I experienced the same.
And then parking is supposedly validated for one hour in a specific lot off of juniper. My validation didn’t work at all, and one hour validation really isn’t a lot when you’re already waiting 20 min to get your food and want to spend quality time with friends.
All in all-will not be coming back but if you want to go and you’re in walking distance and don’t mind a wait or soupy açaí or falling apart wraps, I hope you have...
Read moreI got 8 cute little slices of banana with a light amount of granola. I understand it’s “health” food but it’s a quite disappointing when compared to açaí bowls of the same price from other establishments. I tried asking the crew member who held me about the extra topping I ordered & so since no one was in the front I said hello, waited, & then said hello about 4 more times before she came.. apparently it was understood to also blend the topping into the base. I understand it’s a smoothie bowl but I ordered an add on fruit for an extra topping.. some people actually like toppings but this didn’t leave a dent in my stomach, just my pocket. I understand the concept of a smoothie bowl but this was practically just a smoothie I could have drank, it offered little substance. Unfortunately the crew wasn’t very warm either as three different people just looked my way as I ate but offered no hello, would look my way but avoid my gaze. It’s very “this is what we have”vibe with little to no engagement. Overall, I won’t be back but good...
