I didn't want to write this but I had no choice. I had a negative experience with Noodoh earlier this week. I've had food from here a few times before and liked it, so was excited to order from here again. I placed an order online through their website (not a third party) for pickup and was told the food would be ready in 15 minutes. Great. I came a little early, it was busy, but I was patient. It took about 5 minutes for someone to even acknowledge me. When they did, I told them my name, and they said the order would be ready in 10-15 minutes. I sat down & waited. 15 minutes went by, and someone who worked there told me they were still working on my food, it would take another 10 minutes. Another 15 minutes went by (by this point, it was 30 minutes past when the online platform said the food would be ready), and that same person came up to me and said it would be another 15 minutes. I asked what was taking so long, showed them the time I ordered, and they proceeded to tell me they hadn't even started cooking the food yet. At this point I was upset, but asked for a refund and left, hungry and having wasted almost an hour of my time.
This frustrated me, but I decided I would wait until the next day to call a manager to tell them what happened, so their staff can be properly trained and not have this happen again. I tried calling Noodoh twice to speak with a manager. The first person put me on "hold", then hung up on me. The second person said "we don't have a manager", then hung up on me. I contacted Noodoh on Instagram to try to find some way to contact someone, and no one responded.
I'm utterly disappointed. This is not how you treat a customer. I was already planning on not coming back after the mishap with having me wait for food that wasn't even being prepared, and this just solidified my decision. I hope someone that works there reads this and ensures they correct...
Read moreOn our first day visiting Atlanta, our Chinese friends brought us to their favorite Chinese restaurant, Noodoh. I was blown away how good the food was. My mom said that she hasn’t had a good Chinese meal in such long time. We loved it so much, we went back there again before we headed to the airport. After talking to the owner, I have learned that they are specialize in Shandong cuisine 山东菜,more commonly known in Chinese as Lu cuisine 鲁菜, it is one of the Eight Culinary Traditions of Chinese Cuisine. That explains why the menu is so unique, unlike some Americanized restaurants. The dishes were very authentic, portions were generous, and the price was very reasonable. They have a full bar, offers a nice variety of drinks. The ambiance was elegant, view of the city was beautiful. Wait staffs were well trained, they were very friendly and attentive. Now, let’s talk about the food. Here are what I recommend. $0.99 Shredded Potatoes: not because of the price, it is truly delicious. One of the most common comfort food. Shandong Braised Chicken: this dish had so much flavors. Steamed flat bun soaked up the sauce paired perfectly with the chicken and mild peppers. Please note that the chicken is not boneless. Candied Sweet Potato: I guarantee that you never had anything like it. When you pick up a piece of the sweet potato, you will pull a long string of crystallized sugar. The success of this dish is determined by how long the sugar string will be. It takes a very skilled chef to master this seemingly simple dish. Pork Dumplings Lamb Skewers: it is a popular street food in all cities in China. Pineapple Fried Rice Mala Clam Sweet Corn Soup Tofu Pot with Shrimp and Egg Yolk Fried Stuffed...
Read moreWe had a mixed experience at this restaurant. The staff was friendly and attentive, the space was clean, and it was conveniently located with a parking garage and free dedicated spots. They also had a nice bar selection.
The standout dishes were the steamed dumplings and the golden fried rice — truly the best I’ve had in the area. The orange chicken, Mongolian beef, and chicken noodles were okay, but the chicken noodles were mushy and arrived within minutes, even before our dumpling appetizers, suggesting they were premixed and held.
The Peking duck experience was disappointing enough that we wouldn’t order it again. Before ordering, we specifically asked if the duck would be carved tableside and were told yes. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. The breast arrived already chopped instead of thinly sliced, and the rest came later, carved in a rough, inconsistent way with many small bones. We also weren’t given enough scallions or sauce to make proper wraps and ended up giving up on the dish entirely. Having said that, the duck itself was moist, flavorful, and had perfectly crisp skin — the quality of the meat was not the issue.
That said, the staff was kind and responsive, quickly bringing us extra scallions, sauce, and napkins, and genuinely tried to make things right.
When we’re in the area, we’ll likely return again for the dumplings, golden fried rice, and maybe try their soups.
This is a combined review for two experiences, take out...
