Comparing this to a restaurant would not be fair. This is much more like a stall serving homestyled food and reminds me of stalls in Asian countries. The food is not delicious in the way a restaurant's might be, but it definitely tastes good in a moderate and cozy way, the way an Asian parent may cook for the family. The portions are very fair, and service is friendly and quick. This is a great place! I'm not sure why it is rated so low. When I can easily eat 1.5 footlongs from subway or 7/8 slices of a large pizza (to give a sense of relativity), eating here satisfies me 8/10 (10 is full). The food is also light and healthy, so it should not make you sluggish for the rest of the day or night (basically on par with the lightness of home cooked meals). The Dobie food court is usually pretty chill/quiet as well, even during the lunch rush hour. This is a nice...
Read moreThe service was really terrible. I ordered pork, but every piece was burnt. When I talked to the server, he told me to "just eat it" and facial expression was very impatient and disdainful. Finally, they replaced it after I insisted. I am very disappointed and upset. How can you serve completely burnt food to customers and tell me "this is normal and it should be burnt", and with such a bad attitude? This is the worst dining experience I've had in Austin in 5 years. I have been to this place many times during my study at UT. However, I will never go back again. I never gave one star before this one. Please show some respect...
Read moreAlthough food comes out in a styrofoam or tin bowl, i would think its because the customer has to throw away everything and this place has a rule for that. When you want homemade food, its nice to come here, the staff is very friendly in a shy way and the food is pretty good. Seems like some dishes may use some salt but salt is provided in small packs next to the straws. Overall this is a good place. They have a sushi sign and dont sell it most likely because nobody wants sushi and it is an unpopular order. Very...
