The inside bar has a cozy 80s vibe with comfy booths, a disco ball, and great lighting. The music vibe is the exact opposite of this, distorted rap and top 40 music. I couldn't tell if the speakers were blown or the volume was too loud, maybe both. The loudness level outside is more tolerable. If they can control the volume of both and perhaps make the music a little less abrasive, it would be a good place to hang out inside.
Cocktails were solid, beer selection small but some decent options.
The food looks great, but tastes okay. Overpriced for what it is. The chicken sandwich lacked any flavor and was light on the sauce/toppings. Chicken slightly overcooked and dry. Fries were seasoned nicely and crispy. Mozzarella sticks has great crust and flavor, but the dipping sauce was so disappointing we didn't finish them. It's not really a marina, but more of an au jus. Too thin of a consistency and just makes the breading soggy.
Would be a decent place to grab some drinks and sit outside on a nice day, but I would eat dinner beforehand and hopefully the music is fixed. Kinda felt like they are trying to get the dirty six crowd and the millennial crowd but neither side would...
Read moreFirst time visiting here and it was alright, nothing to write home to mom about and let her know you're taking her to this next great spot when she visits but worth mentioning to your friends to have them try it at least once. The food/cocktails were good, cocktails were underwhelming, food was good but not near the price point they had it at and both drinks and food took a while. I give the service an A+ I know it was his first time serving so, they provided a good experience. They don't split checks so unless someone is ready to foot the bill for over $200 then I'd figure that out beforehand. Overall, maybe I would go here again but it wouldn't be my first choice as it seems it's trying to fit into an overpriced place to eat category. I hope they make it but considering you have to stand out and provide a unique experience to even survive in the high-end price point category here in Austin, this place just seems like the rest here in Austin - In the end, it's just another overpriced place to grab drink and mediocre food - you can for sure tell this place is...
Read moreThe Flower Shop in Austin was hands down one of the worst bar experiences I have seen. Both bartenders made it clear they did not like their customers. From the moment I walked in there was no greeting, no effort, and no professionalism. Drinks took far too long, were poorly made, and the attitude behind the bar was unacceptable. One bartender in particular carried herself with a rude attitude all night, rolling her eyes and acting like every order was beneath her.
The manager, a short Asian lady, made it even worse. She stood by as if the customers were the issue instead of stepping in to lead by example. The other bartender looked like a mix of mismatched tattoos and a temporary vending machine, with the same careless approach and zero focus on service.
I work in the service industry myself and the number one rule has always been customer service. It does not matter if you are tired or busy, you respect the people who are paying to be there. This place completely failed that standard. Shame on the owner for letting this transpire on a...
