As a restaurant owner & operator, I was shocked at the lack of service-oriented culture demonstrated by the manager of Pazzo's Pizza in Avon, CO.
My family, a group of seven, decided to eat Pazzo's Pizza on Monday, July 11th, 2022. We arrived at approx. 7pm and requested to be seated outdoors to enjoy the brisk weather. Realizing the exterior tables could only accommodate 5 people, I asked the "host" if we could move one of the free standing tables (w/o umbrella) next to another in order to more comfortably eat as a family. To my surprise, I was told a firm NO! I was immediately told that if we wanted to sit together, we had no choice but to dine inside. Why? "Why can't we move the table", I asked? "Because those are the rules, this is my restaurant & I know best", he replied without pausing. I then asked to speak w/ the manager and to my surprise he claimed to bear the title.... Though he didn't want to share his name, I did confirm with another employee that it was John.
In disbelief, I led my family out of Pazzo's to eat elsewhere. We found ourselves at a nearby local pizzeria called "Markos" in Edward's Plaza (approx. a 5 minute drive from Pazzo's). As I left Markos, I couldn't help but wonder how many other customers John had upset with his attitude, and how much revenue John has deprived his owner/s. Needless to say, I'll be driving the few incremental minutes every time my family & friends crave...
Read moreThe communication was difficult with the first person we spoke with and they lacked knowledge of the menu items.
We ordered four meals. Only one came as requested (chicken caesar salad) however the chicken was over cooked and the dressing tasted “watered down”.
We also ordered Spaghetti Primavera (without olives or peppers) it arrived with both vegetables. The person taking the order did not know what “spring” vegetables were in the meal so we were disappointed with what showed up. Overall the pasta and vegetables were overcooked and the meal lacked flavor.
The other two meals arrived as “side items” for some reason. Still not sure why. They also lacked taste and had the appearance of being prepared in a school cafeteria. 😬
We probably should have stayed in the “pizza lane” at this place. But we were looking for something fresh that night and they were close to our accommodations so it was “easy”.
Just felt like they didn’t care about what they were presenting, or the customer experience. Maybe it’s not important since most people are travelers and most likely won’t return...
Read moreWHATEVER YOU DO DON'T MOVE THE TABLES!! The way our experience started, we had a group of 7 and 4 joined. So naturally we wanted to sit together. The restaurant had plenty of tables open and was not busy. Naturally the 4 that were joining the group wanted to sit with us. The 4 attempted to move a table onto the end of our group. They where shoved past by this gentleman in the picture and rudely told, "that they don't move furniture here!" The customer service was non existent and no attention was made to be accommodating. The joining 4 had to sit behind us at another table.
On the bright side our server Juan, was beyond amazing! Gave awesome service, friendly and attentive. The food was wonderful.
Unfortunately, at the end of our experience. When the gentleman pictured was questioned about his rude behavior. His response was you're just mad because you didn't get to do what you wanted! I don't know who this gentleman is in correlation with this restaurant but whoever he is doesn't justify his...
