So this is very rich.
I order Uber eats (for the second time) at Mick O'Shea's Irish pub here in Baltimore this time with my family. We're here at the hotel downtown.
So, Mick O'Shea's ---- yeah, It's really really good food, except for the pizza with three times the normal amount of cheese and the EXTREMELY salty refried beans.
But after I put in my Uber eats order to the tune of $84 I called to ask that they give me a slice of bread along with my fish and chips, you know, like every Irish restaurant in America shares up some bread along with the fish and chips, right(?)
"Oh no, sir we can't give away free bread, besides Uber Eats is getting all your money. We're not getting any money. I can't give bread to everybody. Bread is expensive" So I say "that sounds like something you guys gotta work out with Uber eats. I'm just a paying customer who wants a slice of bread. And I promise I won't tell anyone you gave me a slice of bread". S/he says, "oh no you have to pay for bread; go back up on Uber eats and order your bread." "Or, you could just come in"
Frankly, I actually couldn't even find the bread on the menu. And I indeed told her / him that. But to no avail; they do them.
And further after receiving the order, I sort of see now how Mickies's "Uber Eats- gets-all-the-money " philosophy translates into what I get here: maybe just under 4 ounces of fish (?!?) and no ketchup with my chips (who does that anyway? no ketchup with the fries?!?!)
So in sum : Good food minus some items (3/5), bad service (1/5). Lack of professionalism and no customer...
Read moreMy experience was disappointing, to say the least. While the food was passable, the service left much to be desired. Upon entering the establishment, I was approached by what seemed to be a manager who informed me that I couldn't listen to audio from my phone, even at a low volume. This rule seemed arbitrary and unwelcoming, especially considering the relaxed atmosphere of the pub.
Furthermore, I encountered an issue with the food itself when my server brought me a sandwich that had hair on the bun. When I brought this to her attention, she brushed it off as potentially coming from the toaster, which was unsettling. Rather than replacing the order with a fresh one, she simply removed the hair and returned the same sandwich to me, which was unsatisfactory.
Overall, I felt discriminated against and disrespected during my visit to this restaurant. As a customer who frequents upscale restaurants, I expected a higher level of service and professionalism from a pub. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of these expectations. I hope the management takes steps to address these issues and improve the overall customer experience...
Read moreDrove down to Baltimore from Jersey this past Sunday, hit the Guinness brewery and downtown Baltimore on Monday. To be honest, I was headed to the thai restaurant a few doors down, but they were closed.
Started walking back to my car when I realized that I was at the exact same street I stayed with my fiancée back in 2019. Needless to say, I was lost for words, we never actually got married. I started remembering EVERY single step we took on the street, what we did, what we ate...I was feeling dizzy. To top it off, there is a nepali restaurant right in front of the building we stayed at. Yes, she is/was from Nepal.
I needed help and I needed it QUICK. Turned around and saw the bar. Walked in and it was just perfect, to my taste. Pristine, great tone of music, the right amount of people and I was greeted with a sincere smile. I asked for a Guinness, the lady that helped me laughed because I was actually wearing a Guinness hat I have bought the day before. Ordered a salmon BLT. It was finger licking good.
I have to say, I will HAVE to come back. Thank you. I needed comfort and it was given to me by just being...
