The Grille — Restaurant in Baltimore

So this is a mixed review even though it's a 5 star rating. My wife and I went here last night. We waited a very long time to get our food. Like over an hour for two chicken sandwiches. A convention was in town though so they were swamped, understaffed id say. Having said all this, the food was really good. Really good chicken sandwiches. The one waiter, a young guy apologized profusely at which I told him it's ok, you're doing a great job. When it came to pay, the same waiter, he may have been the manager, paid for our dinner w his own money! You don't see that anymore and we were astonished by his generosity. So overall, it's a hotel restaurant that gets extremely busy, but our food was great, the staff was very nice and as long as you are a reasonable human being who understands that the staff is only human too, you'll have a nice time. Waited 10 mins and no one acknowledged us at the door even though multiple employees walked by several times. Was finally sat and waited another 15 for a server to come over. He brought one of us our drinks and never returned. After waiting 20 minutes we left still hungry and thirsty. There was maybe 5-7 other tables in the restaurant that were sat but it looked like most were having the breakfast buffet and didn’t require much attention. We wanted to order off of the menu but when we tried to order our food and our drinks the sever wasn’t able to take both orders. He took our drink order. Brought one of us a Dr Pepper and didn’t return for at least 20 minutes. We grew impatient and left. The staff is not properly trained to handle more than one or two tables at a time. It’s a shame that we can’t eat at our hotel restaurant and have to venture out for food...

Arrived for a post-game drink & snack after the Yankees-Orioles game on Saturday 7/29/23. I cannot give enough praise for the entire staff at the Grill - Dontae and the whole Grill crew were 100% on point in making sure that everyone was served and taken care of. It was hectic with all the fans arriving at once but the Grill staff and crew were a fantastic team in ensuring everyone was satisfied.
