I ordered breakfast here. Decor- The hotel decor is bland here, but they did a nice job keeping the eating area away from the high ceilings and the glass roof so as to keep the sound from being boomy and Private conversations stay private. The "boomy" area floor is covered with gravel and a simulated water theme to absorb sound. I was impressed with this. Service- Penny, my server was excellent. she made me feel right at home. I was the first one there. And she was quite attentive even after others started to arrive. Food - Food was decent .... I came here because of my 3 favorite breakfast options. Oatmeal w banana. Avocado toast. English muffin w peanut butter. I was impressed that the oatmeal had all the fixings on the side, so you had control of the portions. The fruits were banana and berries - quite fresh. The granola on the side was quite good.. not standard granola. Had sunflower seeds, and other.... and not drenched in goopy sugary coagulant. Brown sugar on side. And honey. I look for the honey. I'm very happy with this setup... and I will likely return. The avocado toast was very good. It is a great option for a lighter lunch as well as a breakfast. Avacado was a little soft, and for this, my preference is a little stiffer. Hefty toppings - sun dried tomatoes, cucumber, etc.... a little heavy on the olive oil, so the toast wouldn't stay crunchy too long. but a nice texture and taste for the most part. Basic English muffin toasted just right and Jiff peanut butter. Im not a fan of Jiff, but I understand the individual packs make it easy for restaurants. I was impressed they also had a special kids menu for breakfast as well I definitely recommend the breakfast.
I returned foe dinner the following night. wanted something simple. I ordered the soup of the day, which is a little cheaper than the regular soups. was a chicken soup today and was OK. average. I ordered the smash burger. the taste was excellent with a bacon jam. texture was OK. I'd rate this dinner as good. a little...
Read moreThis place is horrible. We were staying at the hotel and figured it would be convenient to have a restaurant and bar right downstairs. We were wrong. We went the first night and nobody was there to seat us. We eventually found someone who worked there and they sat us in the corner. There was hardly anyone there. We sat there for over 30 minutes we were never even given water. Finally, a server gave us water and said they’d be right back to take our order. She then disappeared. We waited for about 20 more minutes and walked out. We vowed to never go again. However, we found ourselves in a desperate situation for breakfast the next morning so we figured we would give the place another shot. It was busier this time, we waited a bit until someone actually seated us. Once seated, we again had to wait 30 minutes until I stood up and walked up to someone who works there to ask for water. People at tables all around us were walking out and complaining and everyone was miserable. We finally got our food and it was fine. There wasn’t anything amazing about it and it was extremely overpriced. Also- they do not have hash browns.. we ordered them only to be given scalloped potatoes. I would stay away from this place at all costs. I am mad I ever gave...
Read moreStayed in the hotel for a conference and went down for breakfast on the last day after previewing the menu online. Upon being sat, we were told it's a breakfast buffet today (essentially a continental breakfast). My partner did get a build your own omelette that was decent, but with a pile of roasted potatoes that was inedible. There were limited options otherwise for vegetarians - some bowls of fruit with flies buzzing around and over-sweet pastries (one of the draws on the online menu were the protein-rich vegetarian options, but these were not offered for the buffet). I ended up eating two rubbery pancakes and three of the prepackaged cereals. We each got coffee, which was not good. Then the bill came - $26 per person, plus an added 18% service charge. Being charged $64 for what was essentially a continental breakfast at our own hotel is...
