Courtyard 280 — Restaurant in Birmingham

This bar is just ok. my friend and I went when we were in town some locals told us it was the place to be. Upon entering we noticed we were a little overdressed but we still wanted to get some drinks and food. Before going to the bar we were greeted and told you have to get a membership ok cool we joined. Got to the bar and ordered 2 drinks. The bartender charged us $23 each for a Hennessy with Red Bull. We thought that was ridiculously high given the bar but we paid it. Later we saw that she (bartender) purposely made us these bigger drinks when everyone else was drinking out of small glasses and that she was supposed to ask us what size or better yet just made a regular size since that’s what we wanted first. No one and I mean no one else had drinks made like this. I have money but I dont like that we were targeted as out of towners and done that way as females by another female, that was a bit much. Don’t overcharge me because you can that’s not right. People from out of town BEWARE!!!! Ok so I gave it another chance on a Saturday night. I don’t wear a dress or designer shoes. Crocs and shorts like the locals. A more hospitable bartender was there working this time. So being a bartender I understand ABC laws but in 4 nights my ID was checked 4 different ways. Now with that being said the reason I don’t have a “valid” ID is due to me I got a DUI no one else did that to me but myself.. with that being said in 4 separate nights my ID was not checked at all. Paper copy accepted. Paper copy accepted with old hard copy. Then completely denied and having the cops called on me with a bold faced lie.. the door guy said he scanned my ID (when in fact he did not and had no scan device outside 😂) and said I had multiple charges and was being argumentative and combative. When all I asked is why in 4 nights with the same ppl y’all couldn’t decide what they wanted to do?Luckily for me one of the police officers that was there one of the nights they accepted my ID backed me up and agreed that they should have never wasted police time for something they can’t get figured out. And to end the story and top it all off they have been holding 42$ in “pre authorized fees” for over week on a 31$ bill 😂 I’m not sure if it’s covid or what that’s got them acting anyway they want too but seriously to make up lies and hold almost 50$ after you’ve accepted an ID several times is childish. Bar Staff served beverages to on duty police officers while they played pool. When a group of people came to our pool table unprovoked and got in my wife's face, my brother and I stepped in front of them. I believe the people thought she was someone else because we did not know them. The police officers in the bar allowed the group to body check and harass us while they paid attention to my wife instead who was scared and uncomfortable. The bar security claimed that we had to leave because she was 'combative' just because she was scared and telling them to look at my and my brother and help us get the group of people who approached us unprovoked off of us and away from the table where we had been playing for hours.
