This place used to be amazing, but unfortunately has gone down the toilet. First- their one good non-salad vegetarian option is no longer on the menu. Now, the only non-meat burger is called the “black and blue burger”… I get it’s a play on words- it’s just a disturbing one, and frankly, the burger itself sounds highly unappealing. Apparently you can substitute any meat patty for a nondescript veggie patty, but I’ve always found a lack of description means a lack of care and attention, and Eureka has made it very clear by their menu alone that inclusivity is neither a priority nor a specialty for them. Second, I tried their Napa Chicken Sandwich- grilled chicken breast, roasted tomato, pesto aioli, havarti, and bacon. I got it without the bacon. Overall, very hard to mess up. As described, it was supposed to come with ROASTED tomato, but alas- I received fresh tomato slices instead. Odd. The sandwich itself was rather bland, and the chicken had an indescribably grotesque texture. Upon further inspection, THE CHICKEN WAS PINK. I’m very curious to know how you guys managed to royally screw up one of your easiest dishes on the menu. And of course, I received my order via delivery and could not just send it back for a new one. The amount of money I spent to NOT eat dinner and risk salmonella is disgraceful- especially for a restaurant I used to love and recommend. After this, I will never be eating here again, and will be telling others to steer clear of Eureka as well.
As of now, Eureka is just another sub-par (at best) restaurant with a fancy facade, which we have more than enough of in Boise already. Such a guise is tired and truly needs to stop. I’d advise to either get your establishment together- particularly in regard to quality and FOOD SAFETY, or to really lean into the lazy, hazardous vibe you have going now instead of continuing to pretend you’re some luxurious local spot worth the extra coin. Y’know- either actually USE the food thermometers collecting dust, or turn the lights on, play top 40s, and start serving chicken strips and peach schnapps like any other questionable (yet somehow often more trustworthy) dive bar in any given town. You’d think they would’ve made changes for the better throughout the years, but unfortunately Eureka is just an ostentatious joint with a good enough location to charge $20 for a stomach bug. Yikes. Let’s bring integrity back, or in the VERY least care enough to do the...
Read moreThis is seriously my new favorite restaurant !! I love a restaurant that pays attention to every little detail and is proud of what they are & offer! I was totally impressed from the second I walked in. The restaurant doesn't have a fancy stifling feel but an artistic, fun, welcoming chill vibe with an impressive creative menu that is worthy of fine dining creativity. The Restaurant sits next to a long alley completey covered in different beautiful graffiti art. Walk into the restaurant & you pass their cool outdoor patio area. Walk inside & you are instantly greeted by cool farmhouse light fixtures, wood panels on the interior walls, low key trendy music, lots of tv screens, a giant chalk board wall on the back describing drink specials and food, a fun hip looking bar and extremely friendly wait staff that seem proud of their product. We were instantly sat (it was a beautiful Saturday evening) in a conformable leather booth for 2. We were then greeted by our very lovely waitress. She broke down everything about the restaurant and the wonderful things they make "in house". We decided on the truffle fries as an appetizer & after telling our waitress I couldn't drink she lifted my spirits by introducing me to the 1 of a kind creative assortment of mocktails that were available . Creative drinks made with such things such as lavender, edible flowers, fancy tasty syrups they make themselves, and different flavors teas and juices combined from still to fizzy. Amazing!! I ordered the lavender tea. For food I had the watermelon, feta, chicken salad, and after the waitress told us the crispy spicy chicken sandwich was her favorite my husband got that with a couple of highly recommended local beers on tap. We absolutely loved this place and can not wait to come back! Thank you so much for caring about people and creating wonderful things that appeal to all ages & tastes . Freaking great...
Read moreJust got off a long plane ride with my son and wanted to go downtown to eat and look around. Saw these great reviews and knew I couldn't go wrong with a bison burger. Went with the cheese fries + truffle dipping sauce for an appetizer and my son found a chicken strip dinner of kids menu.
The fries were good, and my son had no complaints. Needless to say, i didn't enjoy my bison burger. The bun was cool to the touch (like it was refrigerated??). I asked our waiter if this was intentional and he went to kitchen to ask and he let me know it was not and that they would heat the buns if i wanted. I don't make a habit of sending food back to the kitchen so I didn't go with that offer I just endured my cold bun burger. The next thing was I had to pull my red onions off. I expected them to be grilled with no structure remaining but after taking a couple of crunchy onion bites they had to go. The other strange thing was there seemed to be 2-3 salt pockets within the meat of burger as ifi meat and spices weren't mixed long enough?? I did opt for the fried MacNcheese bites, instead of fries and I'll say neat concept but not for me. Reading a couple of reviews I see there is a fan base though.
The host and waiter were very nice and attentive (4PM on a Wednesday so there was only a table of 8 besides us there) so that was a plus. Also, the atmosphere and location were good. I'm sure I got a rara bad experience with my bison burge, especially after seeing all the other five 🌟 reviews but can't say I'll be back. Theres just too many other places to...
