First time my wife and I had been there. Almost everything was awesome. The ONE minor issue I had, is it was loud. People talking, and music made it difficult for me to understand my wife. I don't have the best hearing... My wife didn't have a problem understanding me. So, that was the one minor negative. The rest was amazing. They were very busy, yet the staff were super friendly and terrific. The drinks. My wife and I sampled 4 of their drinks. 2 from their experimental group and 2 from the more normal groups. Well mixed. Great tasting. Top notch work on the drinks. Now, for the food. We had a special deal that gave us an appetizer, salad, entree and a shared desert. It was all pretty much a step or two beyond any expectations I had. The chips of the appetizer were sliced and cooked to perfection. Seriously, how can they keep that level of consistency with the amount of food in the appetizer? Next were salads. My wife got the beet salad. She liked it, but preferred mine, as did I. It was a cooked salad with a delecious dressing and cooked croutons and cheese. Seriously, best salad I have had. Next dinner. The NY Strip was cooked perfect. The fingerling potatoes were too. All delicious. I was pretty much tapped out at half the steak and 2 small potatoes. You get a lot. My wife got the trout. Again, cooked to perfection. Delicious. Desert. I really have no clue what these were. We waited a bit for them to be srrved. It let my stomach settle. It was kind of a puff all thing with a caramel dipping sauce. Decadent. Delicious. Yea, you get the idea. Another supurb dish. We will be back, and hopefully sooner rather than later. My wife and I were blown away by the perfection of the dishes, the exquisitely mixed and presented drinks, and the amazing service.

We caught a weekend brunch here, and we are so glad we went. We had limited days in town, and my wife had this as her #1 researched brunch place pre-trip. Fiona was our bartender, and we were her first bar customers. She greeted us with high energy, and her service was spotless for our visit. The food and drink ended up being fantastic too, but she really put the exclamation point on our visit overall. I kept it simple with beer, but my wife had two excellent cocktails while there. I admittedly neglected to write down the exact name of them, but my notes say they were a lavender tea drink and an herby Cosmopolitan. Just ask Fiona or whoever is behind the bar when you go. They will lead you the correct way. Picture of one is below. Anyway, I had the short rib hash and the wife had the eggs in purgatory, and both were incredible. The atmosphere was really unique. It was a cool brunch or nice any-meal place, but you could also tell it might get pretty fun at night. The wine cellar was so cool, and we asked to go check it out. Really cool area. Food, drink, and service were easily five star. We loved our experience here, I would highly recommend you checking it out, and see you there (the next time we are in Boise)...

I stopped at Red Feather to get a quick bite to go. I was a little confused about the dual restaurant thing, half of the building is Red Feather and the other half is Bitterhouse and depending on where you sit dictates which menu. It would be helpful to have a menu for both posted outside the restaurant so the person can see the two options. It’s seat yourself which I imagine is hard on the servers if they don’t see you come in, I sat for a while before someone noticed me. I ordered the meatballs to go. They were pretty good, I would’ve loved some spiciness to them. There were other things on the menu I wanted to try, good amount of non alcoholic drinks too.

The environment is pleasant, if a bit cramped. The service was top-notch, folks were very pleasant and attentive. Would especially like to compliment our waitress, Beverly. This is not the first time I've encountered her there, and she's been a joy each time. She and the management went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable.

I tried a couple of their mixed drinks, one traditional and one an experimental. Both were very tasty, but the experimental one in particular was a huge ice cube with only a few swallows of drink. I enjoyed them, but especially for the money the value was not there. This theme carried over into my entree, the scallops. They were delicious, but there were only three scallops presented on the plate, and it was one of the most expensive items on the menu. I understand if that's what it costs for the meal, but I would recommend that the menu clearly reflect that it's a tiny dish (smaller than most appetizers). Perhaps they could price it as "small plate" and "large plate", for more money...I see that often with cuts of prime rib, for instance.

For dessert we had the beignets with butterscotch dip, which were fabulous and perfect size to share.

Overall an excellent experience, with the caveat that if you're hungry, an appetizer is...
