The poor and disabled are not welcome here. If you are, save yourself humiliation and disgrace and go elsewhere. I have been denied service, the management apparently thinks this is still the 60's and we live in a world where certain people are not human beings. I will be protesting this establishment, due to discrimination, after attempting to politely and reasonably speak to the manager... Who has refused to accomidate my disability. I asked very calmly "Seat me anywhere. I will do what I can to compromise." Apparently "He just cant" Should he call the police or continue to prove that he is an ignorant backwater hick who has no soul... I will be filing a lawsuit against this business. Its very sad to see, the food here is excellent, the bartenders are fabulous and the service, for the wealthy and entitled is wonderful... For those of us that are not wealthy or entitled however... Well, lets just say I understand what it feels like to be black, native american, chinese, irish or poor in the middle-ages... Boise is growing, evolving, there are so many beautiful people here who embrace that... The manager of this business? Is not one of those people. Avoid if you think like a human being and not a neanderthal. THIS IS 2015. I have never been so insulted, hurt and frustrated in my life. I am sickened by my treatment here. This is DISGUSTING. SHAME ON YOU, TAPHOUSE. SHAME ON YOU. I have been to amazing cities, all over the world and the US... I have NEVER been denied service or accomidation because of my disability, until I moved here. Just a heads up... What was done this evening? IS ILLEGAL. It is against the US Disabilities Act. If I wanted treatment like this, I would live in some backwater town in the SOUTH. Jim Crow is in hell for a reason... Why would you want to be like him? If you want to see Boise become like the rest of the world, take your business elsewhere. I for one, am tired of living in a city where I am treated as less because I...
Read moreIt’s so true what other reviewers say about this place, if you’re not a regular, you’re not important. We walked in and were greeted by a server who asked if we wanted to sit at the bar or at a table. We said either since we noticed it was busy and we were happy to sit wherever. She said the bar top was open, pointed to a couple of open seats and then walked away as if to say, please sit over there so I don’t have to take care of you. Okay, no problem. We sit at the bar top and the bartender comes up after a few minutes and asks if we want food menus, and we said yes because we planned to have lunch. After getting water, we looked over the beer list and decided on food. She came back and asked what drinks we wanted and went off to get pour them. She dropped them off, then turned and immediately helped the guys who sat down next to us. It was obvious both bartenders knew the two who just sat down. They got their beers and food menus quickly. Then we sat and were ignored for 10 minutes while both bartenders walked back and forth checking on others while we sat with our menus closed and off to the side. We didn’t want to bother them since the service had been very cold and unfriendly so far. The first bartender walked off from the bar and finally a second bartender came by and asked if we wanted to order food, by then we just wanted to cash out and get out of there ASAP. We were really looking forward to getting a bite to eat with a couple beers but the service here was enough to keep us away. We will not return and highly recommend going elsewhere to watch a game and grab...
Read moreI really enjoy this place. When the weather is nice it's so pleasant to take advantage of the patio and sit outside and have a beer and food. They have a nice variety of beers. The menu lists them by style, which I find convenient because sometimes I'm in the mood for something lighter like an India pale ale and sometimes I'm in the mood for something darker like a Russian imperial stout like Old Rasputin from North Coast brewing company. I've been fortunate enough to attend a couple of the Darkest Night events here where they had a large variety of barrel aged stouts and porters. I love being able to get a single fight glass instead of having to get five at a time if I prefer. The food is also delicious. Most recently I had the itacate tacos. The shells are fried cheese, stuffed with pork carnitas, lime-jalapeno-cilantro slaw tomato, and sliced avocado. The order comes with two tacos and they're pretty big. We had some guacamole and chips as an appetizer so one taco after that was enough food. We each took the leftover taco back and ate it a few hours later and it still tasted amazing. The staff here and extremely friendly. Our server was fairly new but she did a fantastic job taking care of us. We finished the night with a couple Old fashioneds made with Bulleit Bourbon and they were perfect. Always recommend...
