Terrible place and will never be going back. Came here on my 21st birthday with a group of friends, all over 21 with valid ID’s, hoping for this to be my first bar. However, the server first of all ignored us and would leave quickly after we asked for something, and then we tried to order drinks. The server told us 3 out of the 5 ID’s were fake, despite them not being so. We asked for our ID’s to be scanned and THEY DONT HAVE A SCANNER. The server even tried to deny a military ID after the Massachusetts ID was told to be “fake.” Also, the ID’s being used were for people well over 21, not like me who had just turned it that day. The only ID accepted with no problem was a Rhode Island one, which is weird because it’s more likely an out of state ID is fake rather than the 3 Massachusetts ones “with a shadow in the background.” We should have let this bar confiscate our real ID’s tbh, so that way we could have called the cops to prove that they were real and for anyone who thought they were fake to be screamed at for wasting the police’s time.
Also: We were sober upon entering the bar, and came at 11:30ish (we were only planning on ordering the overpriced drinks, so the kitchen being closed at that time was not a problem). I don’t think they wanted to serve us, which I wish the server would have been a man and said that instead of lying to us that our ID’s are fake and he won’t scan them. Womp womp, he missed out on a big tip. Instead I and 4 others will never go near here again.
Bonus points: Homeless person tried to scam me immediately after walking out of here. If I could give this place not just 0 stars, but like a -5 stars, I would. Thank you for the horrible birthday and bar experience. I hope you buy a scanner.
Edit after the business replied: I wish your server had said that instead. “Our scanner is currently down right now” is a very different statement than “we don’t have a scanner (at all anywhere in the building)”. We would have understood the first more. It sounds almost like you keep your scanner down so fake ID’s can slip through the cracks easier, and maybe that you were caught recently before accepting them. I have no idea if you were or weren’t, but that’s kinda what that sounds like. Just my 2 cents though :) Also, this was 2 days ago so if the scanner is still down, that’s a long time for a bar scanner to be...
Read moreWe visited this bar on Saturday, 5/17, as a group of four. A bouncer outside encouraged us to come in and try the food, so we decided to give it a shot. We sat at the bar, and while one of us went to the restroom, the remaining three of us ordered beers once the bartender made his way over. He seemed attentive at first and appeared to know what he was doing, efficiently moving along the bar taking care of other guests. About 10–15 minutes later, when he returned to our side, we tried to place an order for a fourth beer and some bacon fries. He asked for a card, which I handed over, and I repeated the order again. He took my card, came back—but never acknowledged the order, despite me repeating it twice more so I repeated it once again. At that point, I assumed he got it and was just busy. However, when he eventually returned, we let him know we were still missing the drink. He denied ever taking the order or hearing us mention a fourth drink. By then, we’d been waiting nearly 40 minutes, and to make matters worse, the kitchen had closed, so we couldn't get the food we originally came in to try. We were understandably frustrated and told him that we had clearly repeated the order. His response? He called us trash. An argument followed between him and my husband, and at that point we chose to leave without finishing our drinks. I was uncomfortable knowing he had my card, so I shut it off—and I’m glad I did. Despite only ordering three beers (around $8 each), he attempted to charge my card for $41.80, then again for $50.16, possibly including a tip that we never authorized. On Monday, 5/19, he tried again to charge my card for $50.16. I’m unsure of the bartender’s name, but he was a large, muscular guy. This experience was incredibly disappointing—not only because of the poor service, but also the verbal abuse and the unauthorized charges that followed. I would strongly caution others before...
Read moreWanted to love this place so badly. Had a reservation for 8 people for 5pm. When we all arrived, we saw a table that had a reserve sign on it that had 5 chairs. After waiting about 5 minutes at the front for someone to greet us, we got sat at another table that we would be needing to move once another table got up that they can push a two top to the table of 5 that was set aside for us, totally fine. We were going to Kevin Hart and the show was at 7:30, so plenty of time. We get told they are going to keep us seated where we are, again, no problem. Took the server about 20 minutes to come over to grab our drink order. One of my friends needed a few minutes and asked to take everyone else's order and come back to her, server left without taking her order. Took another 25 minutes to bring our drinks over. Didn't get our food order in until 5:50, so already here for almost an hour, no communication from our server if the kitchen it slow, or they are busy (definitely did not look it-we've all worked in the restaurant industry, so we more than understand, we just wanted communication-she seemed bothered by us). Didn't get our food until about 6:25 and the burgers were ok, 3 of us got the fish and chips and could barely eat it, they said it tasted like cardboard. Been there for just about an hour and a half and finally got our food and now we all have to shove it down our throats to be out by 6:40. As soon as the food got dropped, we asked for the check and shockingly enough, she got that taken care of right away. All of us got our waters filled for the first time, after she dropped our checks off.
I was looking forward to eating here, we were out for my husband's and friend's birthday and were looking forward to a night and Boston and this pace SUCKED. Beyond disappointed and...
