Wings are good. Would not recommend the boneless- all breast, dry. 30+ mins wait (Saturday night, somewhat understandable) One staff was super attentive and helpful. He apologized profusely for the tables not being clean (which isn’t even his fault) and cleaned it diligently for us immediately.
The other staff member, however, was rude. There is a machine in the dining area on the way to the bathroom (out in the open, not covered or anything). I got curious and tried to guess with my friends what it‘s for. We looked closely when the lady came up 10 ft behind us and shouted “uh EXCUSE ME WHAT ARE YOU DOING??!!” We explained we’re just looking and trying to guess what it does, without malicious intentions. She didn’t care and continued to yell with now everyone watching that “it’s NOT NICE because it’s their new drink machine” etc. my friends apologized and we went back to our table. She continued to shout in front of the store that “It’s NOT NICE to touch the new drink machine” etc.
This is such a bizarre and condescending way to talk to someone. We weren’t trying to be malicious or “not nice” so asking us nicely quietly would suffice.
I understand that she was concerned, and for good reason. But, shouting across the floor and continuing to do so after we moved away and apologized, in front of the whole store, is simply unnecessary. Ever heard of “praise in public, critique in private”? Simple as that.
The store also can move this precious, nice machine out of the dining area / high traffic path, or cover it. If you leave it in the open, I assume I can look at it closely without being screamed...
Read moreBeen here quite a few times since they opened. Generally ok, so every so often we crave fried chicken and/or teokbokki, this is the go-to. Good variety of flavors on the wings, also there are chicken sandwiches, gyoza, fries and stuff. That cheese fries, mmm, surprisingly good (it's powder, not the gooey type).
Online order makes everything easier, esp for food that takes more time to prepare. Usually, 20-30 min is fair for made to order, even if you select ASAP. By the time you leave your computer and walk up, food is most likely ready unless they have a very busy day.
A couple feedback:
website design - currently the "featured items" (ex. Sandwich Club Box or some name to that effect) are not also showing in the respective category, (ie. under "Sandwiches"). So if you move out of the Featured Items tab, you no longer know those items exist. It'll be helpful for Featured Items to show up in both places. selection and quantity - currently, minimum order is 8 wing/$16, or 16 wings/$30. There is only one "half+half" option, with set flavors. Even 8 wings on one flavor is a bit much for one person. If there is an option of 4+4 wings with two customer-selected flavors, I might hit them...
Read moreService: People are friendly when it’s slow but last time I went it was busy and you could feel the stress radiating off the staff. It wasn’t terribly busy from what I could see, there wasn’t a long line and there weren’t too many takeout orders but given them the benefit of the doubt maybe it was busier before, maybe something was making their job more difficult. Still seems inexcusable to not even smile or present oneself as friendly.
Food: The food I got on two occasions was terrible. The smell of plastic or something rancid from the food is so strong I couldn’t eat more than a bite. The presentation of the teokbokki was ugly. It was too soupy and the teok was breaking apart. I will not be coming back for the food. It was way too difficult to eat.
Atmosphere: the store is unique, I’ll give you that. It’s relatively clean for its type of operation. But the smell of the strange chicken is present and unavoidable when you enter.
Something needs to be done about that chicken plastic smell. It’s a shame a good business gets this outcome with the food and service. It’s a fried chicken place and the chicken tastes terrible. It...
