We used to dine here every Saturday through the winter months prior to 2020. Some years, we were actually strategic and seated ourselves in the section of our favorite wait staff. We were often regular enough that they'd bring us drinks without taking our order. I was eager to return to our favorite place for ski lunch.
This was our first time returning since then.
It was very disappointing. It was extremely busy, which was not surprising. I waited at least 20 minutes or longer for a table. Unfortunately, the wait staff was swamped, and it took them a while to get to us. We were seated near the balcony doors, which slide to open, and the balcony has large garage-door style doors that don't hold the heat in. It was freezing, despite being inside. We attempted to slide the door approximately 8 inches over to tone down the breeze, but the manager scolded us and insisted we leave it wide open. This was a new policy from previous years. Needless to say, despite being indoors, we were bundled up to keep warm.
When our food finally arrived, it was smaller in portion size compared to the past. It was also nothing to rave about. I only got fries and did not finish them. They were not very fresh tasting despite how busy the place was. The wrap that my husband ordered was smaller than it had been in the past. The prices have also increased quite a bit.
The only part that I could rate high was the wait staff and the staff clearing the tables. They were quick to clear the table for us and apologetic. A wait staff member was understanding of how cold it was and kindly slid the door a bit closed.
I'm not sure if I would return except maybe to have drinks...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Breckenridge for years, and Coppertop used to be a go-to spot for great après vibes and memorable moments. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. The quality of service here has plummeted to an embarrassing level—staff seem indifferent, inattentive, and completely lacking any care for the customer experience.
The energy and charm that once made this place special are gone. What used to be a lively and welcoming spot has turned into a poorly managed, soulless establishment that no longer reflects the spirit of Breckenridge. Food and drinks take forever, and when they do arrive, they’re nothing to write home about. Worse yet, the staff acts like they’re doing you a favor just by acknowledging your presence while not even acknowledging any sort of customer service knowing the cost to have an experience here.
As someone here on a business trip, actively promoting Breckenridge and Peak 9, it’s easy to see why the crowds and the energy have shifted to Peak 8. Coppertop has become a complete disgrace compared to what it once was. If you’re looking for good service and a great experience, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere—Peak 8 is where all the real...
Read moreWe've been coming to this bar for many years and have probably spent $5k there to date. Finishing a slice of pizza while walking to bar to order a beer and meet friends at bar, bartender pours the beer and tells me I have to leave the premises to finish my last few bites of pizza before I can sit down and drink my beer. What?? Thought she was joking! She's serious and starts making up health code violations of why it's illegal to walk and finish your food at the same time. lol I politely ask for a manager to come explain these made up health codes. She dumps the beer, wasting the restaurants money, losing out on another $100 ski break tab, and storms off instead of bringing a manager over. The bar lost two customers who were just there the day before and had a great time with the other bartender. She appears to identify as a lesbian and it's pretty obvious she doesn't like to be a bartender for men. Hard worker otherwise. Will amend review if management cares...
