Planned a trip over a month out for a friends bachelorette party. We were supposed to be at a reserved table, and do chocolate and wine pairing for 10 (one pregnant bridesmaid who brought her own juice). We all drove up, mostly from Denver (a few flew in from Tennessee), for the weekend and this was the number one thing the bride wanted to do. We got there about 10 minutes early for our reservation and were told they didn’t have much staffing but we weren’t too worried about it. We noticed the table had already been seated by a different bachelorette party but the woman told us she was expecting us and sat us outside (or told us to go sit outside rather). We had to shove tables together to fit and it was a squeeze as there were only 2 round tables. They didn’t have enough chairs so they gave us foldable chairs again we weren’t too worried about it, just happy to be there. However they then told us the package we had booked had been discontinued months ago; which was odd considering the constant contact the MOH had with the winery; as well as being told the we’re expecting us when we walked in. We were then told the only thing they could accommodate was glasses of wine or bottles but no packages at all would be offered. The other Bachlorette party appreared to have the package we were told they no longer offered. At the end the woman offered to take 10 percent off however we asked to get the chocolate platter instead. This was supposed to be on a nice dish and give everyone different chocolates to pair with wines as well as a brief description of what wines pair well with what. Instead we got about 2 small pieces for person on paper plates and were told to just try it. Over all very disappointed in our service as well as the lack of assistance or accountability in working through other options. Not sure if they didn’t ask for the name before giving away our reservation or if they just had no intention of notifying us that they didn’t offer the package anymore; but it was over all very rushed, unprofessional and extremely tactless. The one star I’m giving this is because at the very least, the...
Read moreI've meant to write this review for a while now. About a month ago, my wife and I, along with a couple of friends visited the Continental Divide Winery's Breckenridge location for a wine blending experience. I have always wanted to try a wine blending experience and this was better than I could have hoped. Our hosts and guides for our adventure were Meredith and Natalia. They were personable, funny, engaging, knowledgeable and overly accommodating. The wines we were presented to blend were a nice California cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir and zinfandel as well as a lush Colorado petit verdot. We were provided a small lab kit with beakers, flasks, pipettes and a chart detailing the proper ratios for different size blends. At the end we all got a chance to blend our own bottle and cork it ourselves with a contraption that reminded me of a medieval medical/ torture device. I have and will continue to recommend this experience to almost anyone willing to listen. It should be enjoyable to a wide variety of people and tastes, not just people who like wine. It was a great learning experience and social activity with a great take away gift. We will be sure to return and blend again. If you get a chance try their other wines as well. The Rose' and Sparkling Rose' were a nice way to wrap up the visit and we took a couple bottles of those...
Read moreI've visited Continental Divide several times in the past, but unfortunately, this most recent experience will be my last. I brought a friend for her first visit, hoping she’d enjoy it, but we were both disappointed.
We presented a BOGO coupon for a wine tasting, and from the moment we handed it over, our server seemed noticeably irritated. For a \$40 tasting, we expected not only higher-quality wine but also a better level of service. Instead, we received four one-ounce pours of red wine—most of which were barely drinkable. There was minimal explanation provided, aside from the order of the wines, which made the experience feel rushed and impersonal.
We are members of several wine clubs and have had the opportunity to visit many wineries. Compared to those experiences, this one fell significantly short. The $40 per person price tag felt unjustified given the poor service and subpar wine quality.
Sadly, we won’t be returning—primarily due to the service, but also because the overall value simply...
