Wife and I were upgraded to Unit #311 at Trails End on a recent trip to Breckenridge, after we were originally booked at Breck Inn. It was definitely a good upgrade!||||The property is in a perfect location just off Village Way. We didn't ski on this latest visit, but we could tell lifts were within walking distance as people were walking with all their gear toward Peak 9 on the two mornings we were there. My favorite was the two hot tubs; one inside and one outside, but both right next to each other. It's great to have the choice. Changing rooms are located up the staircase that shares the indoor hot tub room. They are not marked so you just have to wonder what's up those stairs. Two changing rooms with showers are located up there. There is also a sauna, which I'm not going to talk about since I'm not a fan, but I know people do like those things for some reason.||||As I said in the title, we had Unit #311. It is a 1-bedroom condo with a queen bed and a sleeper sofa. There is also a full kitchen with everything you need to make meals...except for cooking spray. Be sure to buy cooking spray when you go to City Market to buy food if you plan on making meals in the condo.||||This particular condo has seen a partial upgrade in decor. The kitchen has been fully upgraded with new flooring and cabinets! The dishwasher and range all appear to be older and the microwave appears to be new. I did bring this to the property company's attention that the refrigerator was starting to go on the fritz. The freezer worked just fine, but the fridge area only got cold-ish even on the highest setting. Hopefully this got fixed after we checked out and the next renters checked in.||||The rest of the unit hasn't seen any upgrades since, quite possibly, the 80s! It is 100% carpet even in the bathroom and the carpet definitely needs replacing. While the TV in the living room is new, there is still a very old CRT TV in the bedroom. The fireplace worked very well and is the primary source for heating the condo. All the units in this building have very good size balconies and ours had a table with chairs.||||Trails End is a nice place, easy walking to the lifts and easy walking to downtown. Bus lines also pass right by the building. It's one of those places where parking once and doing everything is a definite...
Read moreWe recently spent 3 nights in condo #205 at Trails End, rented through Summit Mountain Rentals. The positives are that the unit itself was very clean and had a cozy, log cabin feel to it due to the decor. It was a 1 bedroom condo with a full kitchen and small living room with a balcony that overlooked the parking lot and had a tiny glimpse of the mountain peaks over the trees. The balcony was pretty spacious. The condo complex is also located a VERY short drive to downtown or a fairly short downhill walk (uphill coming back), but there is also a bus stop right across the road too.||The cons: The building itself is very dated and doesn't seem to be cleaned thoroughly very often. The very first afternoon we arrived, after we came back from dinner, we saw someone dripped something brown all the way through the lobby and to the elevators. When we left 3 days later, it had never been cleaned up. Also be aware that even though there are elevators in the building, there are about 7 stairs you must climb to get to the elevators or to get anywhere really right upon entering the building. There is a lift for wheelchair users only, so you have to lug your luggage up the stairs and even though there are a couple luggage carts at the top of the stairs, if you are not on the first floor, be warned that the small size and the sharp right angle of the elevators make it so that you cannot fit the luggage carts into the elevators, so you have to manually bring all your luggage to your unit.||We were also disappointed that the advertised indoor hot tub was out of service and sounds like it's been out of service for a long while. The pool we were advertised is actually across the street at another complex, and even though we were given a key for it, weren't too excited to have to schlep all the way there and back especially while wet on chilly nights. A lot of the pictures advertised on the Summit Mtn. Rental page for this unit actually showed the complex across the street and not the building we were in, which was...
Read moreThis is a great location - really ski in ski out to Quicksilver lift. The condo is in really beautiful shape, with nice furniture and appointments. It's very comfortable. One night the hot tubs were too hot, but the other nights they were perfect. Just bring your own towels unless you want to use your bath towel for hot tubbing and showering. The bedroom is quite cold, which we liked, but you might want to be aware. As others have commented, you need to use quarters for the ski lockers downstairs, which is pretty old fashioned. I don't even use quarters any more, let alone twice a day for two of us!!! Plus, they are old retro lockers that don't fit skis with wide shovels or snow boards. Kind of strange set up. Since we didn't have quarters, we just left our skis unlocked and nothing happened. The place feels very safe. The kitchen has all the cutlery and utensils you could need but I'm not sure people cook very much. We set off the smoke detector every time we even turned on the stove! On your day of departure, you really need to check out in the morning and move your car out of the lot by 10, so if you're going to ski, you need to get in the car, go return your keys, and park in the city parking lot before you can hit the slopes. I can't say enough good things about Ski Country. They are so professional and attentive. Really, everything you could want. I would definitely use them again. Overall, an...
