The food was âokayâ. I had the veal cutlet - it was pretty bland, definitely wanted more lemon or a sauce⊠my husband had the duck. The leg part was great but the breast wasnât cooked well (skin was not crisped at all). The biggest issue we had was the service. The place was full and there were only two servers so I am sensitive to that⊠however, my husband and I rarely get to get dressed up for dinner and have time away from the kids so I wanted to have a picture of us (something we donât have many of these days!). I waited until things settled down and they were dropping off our food. I had my camera already open and acknowledged they were busy but could she take our picture very quickly (we are talking 10 seconds hereâŠ.) she said no because she had to bus a tableâŠ.. at this point it was almost 9:00, there werenât any new guests waiting and tables open⊠then later I heard her laughing about it with the other server âI told them Iâd be back later but never came!â I mean⊠we arenât a bunch of teenagers getting a pic for âthe gramâ here⊠I honestly wanted one nice picture of us. It felt very rude. At another point, the table next to us asked for an espresso martini (around 8:30) and the server said âIâm not making one of this with it being this late in the evening.â I mean WTH?? You take reservations this late in the evening, these tables should be entitled to the same service throughout the evening. Just overall subparâŠ. Food was âmehâ service was rude⊠Iâd spend my money elsewhere⊠tons of other...

We sat down and were served some French bread with salted butter, and knew we were about to have a delicious meal after the first bite. Neither of us were interested in alcohol that evening, so our waiter crafted us some beautiful summery and refreshing mock-tails that went perfectly with our meal. We found ourselves unable to pick an entree, so we decided to order nearly every hours dâoeuvres from the summer 2024 menu. Our picks included the duck fat fries (to die for) scallops, muscles, ravioli, onion soup, and shrimp. Our waiter asked if it was okay that chef sent them out as he saw fit, and the meal was curated thoughtfully and beautifully. At one point during our meal, the woman I believe is the owner stopped by our table and stated that she loved that we had ordered the way we did because thatâs how they eat in France. It was a very sweet interaction. She also shared her memories of her grandmother making big batches of muscles when I told her they were my favorite dish of the night.
After a glutinous and decadent meal, we were shown a dessert menu and chose the double chocolate mousse and a raspberry pastry, both were spectacular.
This was our absolute favorite meal on our week-long trip to Colorado! If youâre within reasonable driving distance of this spot, you should treat yourself!
P.S. During the day, they also operate an amazing...
Read moreI had another amazing dinner at La Francaise Bistrot. We were seated right away and quickly served. The place is quaintly decorated. The restaurant is owned by a local family from France, they are so passionate about what they do. They have two high top tables at the edge of the kitchen, where you can watch them cook and talk to the chefs. The chefs are the ownerâs daughter and husband.
I shared their âRavioles de St Jean Gratinâ appetizer with my mom. It was small ravioli in a creamy truffle sauce and broiled in the oven. The raviolis were so tiny! The appetizer is delicious and enough to share between two people.
For my entree, I tried their âCanard a lâOrangeâ which is a seared and slice mallard duck breast, orange supremes of zest, gastrique, smashed crispy fingerling potatoes, mashed pumpkins. It was delicious and had so much flavor! It was very filling, I took half the entree home.
For dessert, I ordered their âProfiterolesâ. When I ordered the profiteroles they told me it was sold out for the day, but the chef had looked in their bakery and found one more! It was puff pastry with ice cream in the middle and topped with chocolate sauce. It was sooo good.
I highly recommend you come here for a nice dinner in Breckenridge. They change their menu seasonly. They also serve their dishes until they are sold out because everything is freshly made, so just a heads up if you want to order something and itâs not available, but they have plenty of other delicious food to choose...
