Insulting, frankly. Where to even begin… $30 for two beers ?? $10 for a bottle of Pellegrino?? I love potatoes and somehow they failed on this front. We ordered the fried Swiss potatoes to accompany the cheese fondue, which were entirely flavorless. You get better hashbrowns at Denny’s for half the price and double the portion. We also got a side of apples, which to my dismay were the variety they give American kids with their school lunches - aka garbage; flavorless and grainy. Service was terrible; we thought our waiter was drunk or high. His demeanor was odd to say the least, constantly interrupting our conversation and trying to upsell us on items we weren’t interested in. Later the waiter from the table next door stepped in, sensing that perhaps something was off. The French onion soup was not bad, but diluted too much. The pear and walnut salad was also fine. Forgot to mention the bread - the only thing that came with the fondue - was depressing and not even toasted. $42 for some melted cheese at a supposedly European restaurant, at least have some decent bread! We hoped to have the meal redeemed with a traditional dessert and got the apple strudel. Alas, no such luck as it was served to us cold. We sent it back and after 20 minutes more it was brought back heated properly. The final insult to injury was that they didn’t take it off the bill. A total tourist trap. Outrageous prices for the quality you get. Bill should have been half. Maybe once it was good and the owners took some pride in their establishment, but those days are long gone and now they are just exploiting the Swiss reputation and tourist location. We left very disappointed. This was our last meal in Breck and we hoped it would be the icing on an otherwise wonderful week. Try Radicato instead ! Great service and quality. We were blown away.

Was disappointed that the menu presented on arrival didn't match the menu they have posted on their website!! Online the menu offered six "traditional Swiss specialties" dishes that were great options for the few in our group of 8 that were lactose intolerant. However, on arrival we were presented with a different menu with only pricey fondue options. We were told that this was their "winter menu". We did the research before making reservations. Their online menu should match the menu in the restaurant. We stayed, because we'd have had an hour long wait to go elsewhere in December without a reservation. Those of us that had the fondue enjoyed it very much. The Classic cheese fondue was fantastic, although it only comes with bread. Sides of fruit or vegetables are additional. The beef tips were very delicious and tender on the beef fondue. Overall the food was very good and the staff was friendly and accommodating! Drinks were overpriced. Martini came half full. Reservations highly recommended!

Swiss Haven was ok. Just ok. The best part of the experience was our server, who was hard-working, humorous, and enthusiastic. The restaurant itself was lacking in ambiance, very loud, and cramped. The food was ok, nothing special as for flavor. The food quantity was small. The cheese fondue bowl was about 1/5 full. Same with the chocolate fondue (see photos of fork and small marshmallow showing level of chocolate fondue fill level). In fact, for the high price of the food, the quality and quantity was seriously lacking. If you come here wanting to feel full after spending $100/head, you’ll be disappointed. Be prepared to spend a lot of money for a mediocre experience. I get that this is a ski resort town and we should expect pricey meals, but we also ate at Twist and Salt Creek Steak House, and both of those are far better value for the money.

I’ve taken my family here 3 times on our yearly Breckinridge trip that has become quite the tradition. Our first time we had amazing service and while the price didn’t really match the portions we enjoyed the ambiance and our server, Ivan, had the most humorous outgoing personality and the whole family loved him. Our second year the food was just as good, however our server (who I can’t recall the name of) was terrible to say the least. One of my party got sick because she wouldn’t re light the fires under the broth and therefore our food wasn’t cooking in it. Meaning we ate raw chicken, beef, and other foods. We were in the restaurant for easily over 3 hours because of our servers incompetence. This year, we gave Swiss heaven another shot, hoping for a repeat of our first year with Ivan. However, our experience was just as bad. We called in September to reserve a spot (Mind you our trip occurred in January). So we should have had a cemented position on the reservation list. However day of we got a call asking us if we wouldn’t mind coming 30 minutes later as they were a bit behind schedule. This was no issue, however we did arrive a tiny bit early (5 minutes) to see if maybe we could get seated early. When we checked in with the host who rudely said “we cannot seat you because you are 5 minutes early”. We understood and were happy to wait until it came about 10 minutes after our reservation time. At this point we asked the host about our reservation he was very combative saying they were behind schedule and there was nothing he could do. I told him we had made this reservation months ago and my spot should’ve been secured. Eventually after 30 minutes we were brought to a table (mind you this was an hour after our first reservation time). But, this table was two two-tops pushed together…. For my party of 6! I asked the host if we could sit at the open table next to us (which was 3 two-tops pushed together) but he said “no, that table has a reservation”. When I asked why our reservation didn’t get us that table the host got very angry with me and verbally fought me to keep me from the table. Eventually a man, who I assume was the manager, let us have the table. Our food was great and the lady who served us was amazing. But the host ruined the experience for the party. I could not believe how rude he was being to me and how little respect he had for our reservation. I later came to find out that our reservation got moved so they could squeeze in parties that called same day to get spot. All in all, the management at this establishment always hires one bad egg and we always seem to get them. Don’t take the chance and waste 100s of dollars here, go...

Our family of 4 ate here New Years Eve night. We had reservations. I will give a very honest review based on our experiences.

We read all the reviews before dining here and occasionally I would see the words “tourist trap” and “over priced”. I’m pretty lenient and don’t often give reviews and give the benefit of the doubt…

Cons: With that said, this place is an absolute tourist trap, without question. The food was well below average especially with a $240 price for 4 people. That’s with no alcohol and one appetizer. The entire restaurant smelled like mildew as soon as we walked in, it was awful. That should have been our first clue to leave. At first I thought it was just the cheese causing the smell, but I’ve been to the melting pot in Houston with a similar concept and the restaurant didn’t smell. The atmosphere is not great at all. Everything is crammed tight on top of each other, very out dated. Bathroom is old and feels like a dirty pub bathroom. When we sat down, we watched 3 other groups come in and sit down after us within a 10min span. We ordered our food before them all and each of them received their main courses before we even got our appetizer. A place of this magnitude and price, that is unacceptable. Our drinks took awhile for refills. Chicken was precooked and firm.

Pros: steak was tender, vegetables fresh.

Overall I would not recommend this place for the cost to value of what you’re getting. I left feeling like I was ripped off. I’ve eaten in many tourist areas and understand that prices are higher in certain areas. Been to Vegas, Disney etc and the food is understandably higher due to the tourism, but the value matched the quality or the atmosphere and was somewhat reasonable. Swiss Haven without question did not offer anything anywhere close to the value we paid...
