Iâve been to this place every visit to Breckenridge except when it was closed during COVID. We were really looking forward to coming back. Spent $80 on 2 glasses and brought my daughter. It has such a cool vibe, but we were the only people in the bar. Even so, the process was rushed. The sugar cube was dipped in the spirit. This is done when you are going to ignite it. It wasnât ignited. Which I donât mind, but donât dip it if you arenât going to ignite it. The water was dripped too quickly, and when the cube wasnât dissolved fast enough for her, which was about 60 seconds, she just stirred it in. The water wasnât cold enough, and it did not get the opaque look. I assume because it didnât have time to release the louche due to the rushed process. It was not cold enough, so I had to ask for more ice for both drinks. There was a pile of undissolved sugar at the bottom of the glass. After adding the ice, and swirling the glass a bit it finally did get that opaque quality. I donât mind paying $80 for 2 drinks when those drinks are an âexperienceâ which is what The Absinthe Bar seems to be selling. Having had the experience before, I am not sure your staff has the training at this time to deliver the same experience. Our visit was 1/4/23. Thought a new night would bring different results. Went 1/5/23 with hubby. Bar was full. There were 4 people drinking in the place and they were all behind the bar. Every drink at the bar was empty. We sat for 20 minutes and tried to get a drink, but to no avail! People lined up at the bar- no drinks served! This place needs bar rescue badly. Itâs such a cool concept-but they have the wrong people in place to make it work. Really would have loved to drop another. $80 here, but no one wanted...
Read moreWe saw an ad for Absinthe Bar in a magazine at our hotel and were super excited to try it out! We got there around 10 on Saturday night and the place was dark and dead, but we decided to stay. We ordered two Koruna drinks (20$ each) and did not like them, however the presentation was nice. I also did not like that the people next to us were talking negatively of my boyfriend and I to the bartender. They also made a comment about our assumed age - "what are they 21?" (we are 24 and 25) I'm sorry, last time I checked 21 year olds are allowed in bars! We had such a great dinner beforehand and this totally killed our vibe. It was an uncomfortable experience all around. We didn't even finish our drinks before we asked for the bill and left!

Read moreThis place was a pleasant surprise at the end of a meal, actually. The first time amy of us had absinthe in a way absinthe was supposed to be experienced.
They were pretty bare for being just before ski season starts, but is slowly filled in the later the night moved on.
They got a nice selection of a few cocktails as well, for those not brave enough to try it straight... I was not brave enough to try it straight.
There is a strong licorice flavored note to absinthe. So, if that's not your jam, you may not enjoy the bar. Otherwise, very intimate little shindig.
Props to Grace for helping us through that...
