There was a write up in the paper about this place so four of us decided to go there for lunch. The food was excellent. I selected the special of the day, Thai pulled pork over rice with an egg roll. It was topped with fresh shredded cabbage and carrots. The meat was tender and flavorful. The rice was the right amount of sticky. The egg roll was crisp and hot. Two in my group got salads. They were large and fresh. One ordered the chicken salad on croissant. The bread was large and fresh with plenty of chicken salad on it. The strawberry basil lemon was delicious. While I really enjoyed the location of this coffee stand and the friendly service provided by the barista, the pastry and beverage I ordered fell short of expectations. Coming from California, I am no stranger to standard or even higher prices, but I left feeling that my purchase was not worth the cost. The poppy seed muffin was particularly disappointing, earning a 2/10 in my opinion (which says a lot, as I rarely leave a sweet treat unfinished). Found Whimsicals on find me gluten free and decide to stop by for breakfast while traveling to the area. I'm so glad we did. My wife and I both got the mini waffles (always gluten free). I'm celiac so always dread trying to find quick breakfast while traveling. The mini waffles were delicious, and so was the pastry (sour cream muffin with a coffee cake crumble on top).
